Has my WII GPU gone dead?

    Hi guys,
I bought my wii second hand and soft modded it myself, a few months back the while i was playing , the screen started flickering, colors changing pixels getting botched up and all, after a few minutes that stopped and it started working as it was, this happened a few times and i would usually turn the console off when the flickering lasted longer. Then for a few weeks it ran fine, no problems as such. Last week while i was playing NSMB it started flickering again it went on for five, i kept playing like it then the screen started going blank, i turned the console off. Next time i turned it on the game barely started and the screen went completely blank no flickering just a black screen, i restarted it after letting it cool down it turned on but with a blank screen only sound coming.
Now I want to ask is my GPU dead or is it repairable? by reballing or some way?
    Thanks alot

no i dont know(please elaborate or link)? ...really the power supply? cuz the console is still turning on with a blank screen and sound and when i point the wiimote at the sensor bar and move it there is vibration. and the first time the screen went blank was when i was playing and the screen was flickering.

Moved to the Bricked section of the site --- OP, billyhome was simply trying to help --- sounds like something else. Might want to wait for mauifrog to come bumpin' along, he'd likely have suggestions for you.

try component cables rather than the composite ones that come with it.

Semi common fault, not quite sure what it is. I have some here to fault find. I will try replacing av encoder and other things to find out the actual cause when I get time.

when the power supply[s E-cap (ie. energy storage) is getting aged ( electrolytic dried out), output voltage and total power shall be dropped at an unexpected situtation. u could tell the symptom by knowing the console working fine in certain moment, and not in another. wiimote at vibration is using the cells energy and not the power from console.

With my standard A/V cables this happened to me. It was bad A/V jacks on my TV. I wiggled them and it worked.

    Just an idea.
