If you install an autobooting modchip then you can bypass the main menu and will simply boot the game.

You can also try entering the main menu at maintenance mode and see if you can then access the disk channel. To enter maintenance mode press and hold + - together at health warning screen. If it works, you won't need a modchip to repair.

I tried maintenance mode and it still reboots.

I should note one slight change. It reboots when I select one of the channels, besides playing a game. Using that mode, it just goes to a black screen and never loads the game.

Did you use my guide to mode this 4.3 wii?

If you did, burn wiirescuedisc-249.rar or wiirecuedisc-36.zip and load it from the disk channel.

Yes I did use yours. I used the Super Smash Brothers guide. I will try those and report back.

I put the disk in and it automatically loads it...goes to a black screen and that is it . The power light is still on, but the screen is blank and the remote doesn't register.

Yes, you can get into recovery mode and it will say which system menu you are on. You can do this using savemiifree.

I think all his patched IOS and cIOS are gone so that won't work if that's the case.

Sounds like the only choice he has at this point is to autoboot with a modchip. It will have to be preset to autoboot from the company you buy from since you might not be able to get into the settings to make it autoboot.

Do you get any type of error message with the black screen?

Edit: Also, I didn't see anyone ask if you have bootmii installed or not. If so, do you know if it is installed as boot2 or IOS?

I just get a blank screen. No error message.

I do have bootmii installed...I have my nand backup and everything as well. Sadly, my bootmii is installed to IOS not boot2

Hmm... I think the modchip route is your only option left at this point. I would offer to do it for you however, I currently have my hands full with 17 bricked consoles I'm working on. It would be a while before I could get to it.

I took my nand backup that I made...and when I went to use it on the Wii, I received the following message Error #004: The system files are corrupted.

You don't need a modchip, the wii is dip patched on ios 36 50 60 70 80, so no need for a chip. You have messed up some ios, probably ios35 and ios36, perhaps others. I will make you another disk to try as soon as my wife will give me my pc back.

Edit: did you try the 249 disk, or just the 36 disk or both. It may not matter as loadmii proably loads 36 regarldess. But if you only tryied the 36 disk, they the 249 disk.
