    Am i banner bricked?

so i was installing POP via usb loader gx r938 after playing the game for a short time i exited back to the title screen then to the wii system menu screen lost video so i restarted the wii after health screen i got the your system files are corrupt message so i powered down the wii unplugged the hdd and it booted up to the system menu. plugged the hdd back in and it seems to be working but im scared to try POP again. Has anyone ever had this happen? or know why it happend? I have a 4.2u softmodded via shadowsonics guide. Only thing ive done is update cios38 to rev17 and installed the lastest usbgx. Any suggestions?

i can't think of that "system files corrupted" was related to the POP file.
as plugging back the hdd and everything backed to normal (seems to be), i would say ok to play POP again.

It sounds like one of those things you need to keep an eye on. If it happens again there are some things we can try. It's not likely anything to do with installing POP (although I'm not sure what that is lol). When you install something with any USB loader, you are not "installing" it rather you are just copying it to your hard drive. Nothing is being written to your NAND (wii memory). Therefore it will not corrupt any of your system files.

Prior to installing the game i upgraded from cios38 rev 14 to 17 and from usb loader gx r 907 to r938 b/c it has the POP patch built in or so i thought. I should have just left it alone

It's possible that it has something to do with USB Loader GX itself. I suggest you install r921. It's one of the last stable versions. You can find it here.

Theres not an update for Priiloader that works with the new HBC yet. We will have to wait. You could always install an older version until the update comes out.

    PS
    I'm from Midwest BFE.
