    Wii restarting after channel select

    Hi,

I am having a problem with my wii and it seems to be semi-bricked. Every time I try and load any channel, the wii restarts.

I have Bootmii installed so I am able to load any homebrew, however it seems that one or a few of my IOS's have been corrupted.

I bought this system with 3.1U installed on it. I then updated it to system menu 4.2U using Dop-Mii. Through Dop-Mii I have ran a syscheck and it is posted below.

IOS Version FakeSign ES_Identify NAND Flash USB 2.0
250 (r65535) Enabled Disabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
249 (r20) Enabled Disabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
236 (r1) Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
70 (r6687) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
55 (r5406) Enabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
53 (r5406) Enabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
38 (r3867) Enabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
37 (r3869) Enabled Disabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
36 (r3351) Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
35 (r3349) Enabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
34 (r1039) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
33 (r1040) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
31 (r1040) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
30 (r1040) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
28 (r1288) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
22 (r772) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
21 (r514) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
20 (r12) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
17 (r512) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
15 (r1031) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
15 (r1031) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
14 (r520) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
13 (r273) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
12 (r269) Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled

Some of these IOS's I have installed in order to try and fix the problem, however it has gotten to the point where I just cannot figure out the issue. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is more information that needs to be added then please let me know and I will do so.

    Thanks,
    Tutterup

Well you have messed something up haven't you...I cannot fathom how or why you have 2 IOS15's installed....did you alter the IOS report in anyway? You have to many patched IOS....what else have you been going to this Wii?

None of these should be patched (enabled). Do NOT delete them, simply overwrite them with UNPATCHED IOS. Here is a list to reference.

    Don't install any stubs.

37 (r3869) Enabled Disabled Enabled Disabled Disabled
35 (r3349) Enabled Disabled Disabled Disabled Disabled
34 (r1039) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
33 (r1040) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
31 (r1040) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
28 (r1288) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
22 (r772) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
21 (r514) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled
17 (r512) Enabled Enabled Enabled Enabled Disabled

You are also missing IOS56, 57, 58. Edit: And 61.

You've fooled with your IOS alright. You have some that are 4.3-specific (15 is listed twice, btw; how'd that happen?) and it looks like you perhaps did mauifrog's guide and then downgraded. You also have cIOS-X Rev 20 installed. This is no solution, but rather a hodge-podge approach that got you to this place. You said it was a 3.1 but then updated to 4.2; some of your revisions come from mauifrog's 4.3 guide as stated. I'm moving this to the bricked section (not really a brick per se, but on that track); perhaps mauifrog can summon some answers.

He did not do my guide.

Try to reinstall ios35 without any patches, you can use dop-mii v13. Also install ios70 with patches when in dop-mii.

See how that goes and post back.

Also, most of his ios are not patched, they are just old and have those by default. Since he had 3.1, it is appropriate.

    Channels working

You, mauifrog, are a savior lol, thanks. After following what he said the channels are able to be selected again thankfully. I am still concerned about my other IOS's however. As Krank stated, it seems a bunch of them have been patched that shouldn't be.

Should I still go ahead with Krank's suggestion on the IOS's even though the problem I had is fixed?

Edit: I have ran another syscheck with Dop-Mii, it seems I had an older version of it. The updated IOS list is as follows:

    Krank,
while reading your thread (i.e. #2) on the preferred ISOs, shall i reinstall those wads into my 4.2x ?
i've noted that your suggested 33, 31, 28, 22, 21, 17 are different from mine; and, unfortunately, my softmodded 4.2J can not run any of the current usb Loaders. could the replacement give some help ?
    thanks.

    this's my curent SysCheck.
