    Bricked Wii

    Hi,

A couple of days ago I softmodded my Wii using mauifrogs guide and it worked just fine.
Tonight when I was trying some games I tried to start Mario Party 8 from my USB HDD using USBLOADED GX and I just got an black screen. So I turned off the the WII to try to restart sine this was not the first time. But this time I only got a Blue screen. NO worries I thought since I got Priiloader installed, so I tried to restart and pushing the reset button but priloader does not work. Have I totally bricked my wii?

Virgin it had 3.4E and after the softmod it was 4.1.
I have a NAND backup but not BOOTMII on BOOT2.
The game was PAL same as my WII.
I can power on the wii using the remote.

I don't know what went wrong or what I can do Could it even be HW error?
    Please help me!!

I don't know what your trouble is, it does not sound like you did anything wrong. Also, I have no real idea what would cause a blue screen, so it very well could be HW related. I don't have much to say in the HW area, it is not your bt module. Perhaps Bad_Ad84 will have some better suggestions for you, he is very good with this type of thing.

Blue screen = no video being sent out by the Wii.

I don't know if I detect dry sarcasm or not, mauifrog

I wasn't for certain if that was what you were saying is all... most def some kind of hardware/failure issue.

If it is hardware I'm screwed? Since if I do a sob story and turn it in they will see that it is softmodded.
Is there any way I can figure out what is broken?

Also does anyone know if this is common, I need to buy a new one but I do not really know if I dare to softmod it. This was not a good first experience....

BTW thanks for the fast replies both of you.

Blue screen could just be his TV. some tvs show blue when there is no video output (as said above).

If you can power on via the remote, its not the bluetooth module....

Could be the Wifi module, but the only way to test this would be to try swapping it with a known working one... If you had bootmii installed as boot2 (why oh why dont you have bootmii as boot2?) then this would be much easier to diagnose.

Also, I see your Wii is PAL, where in the world are you located?
