My Wii is as old as it can be, bought it on opening day.

I have tried savemiifrii (4th GC slot, hold all 4 D-pad buttons) with an old GameStop controller, but it didn't seem to work.

    I live in the USA

And I still think it's a hardware problem, as I haven't modified with the software for a long while, however I may be wrong.

My money is still on the Wifi module.

Shame bootmii wasnt installed, would have been easy to diagnose.

can you try things yourself? Like opening it and put in another wifi?
If that does not work try to flash bootmii into the nand.
Did you ever try a component cable? It could also be that your video output is bust. Had that also on a handful of wiis...

You may have to try Savemiifee several times. You have to get the timing just right. It's worth another shot. I agree with Bad_Ad84 that it's most likely a hardware issue.

I will try to replace WiFi, and if not that, Bluetooth, yet I need a friend that is willing to let me crack open his/her Wii....hmm....

I have the same symptoms except I do have bootmii installed. It is outputting info over USB Gecko, but there is still no video. Savemiifrii doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions? If not, is there a program available to wipe the NAND, including boot2, that can be run on boot?

You dont want to erase boot2.

Was bootmii installed as boot2? and can you get into bootmii if you have the files on your sd card?

Without the sd card you should still get the bootmii 2 blinks of the drive light, check that too.

otherwise try some component cables, i have a few boards that wont work over composite but work fine on component.

    Bad_Ad84,
my friend's console has Opera screen shows up every time at power-on.....then, freezes. wiimote sync is ok, with the "pointer" shown on screen. yet, nothing could be done further.
is it a fully-bricked ? i guess the console might have been updated with an out-of-region game.
    your comment will be appreciated.

I want to erase the NAND so that I can send it in for repairs.
Yes, bootmii is boot2. As I said, I can get USB Gecko debug output, but nothing on screen, component (what I normally use) or composite. I get the blinks without SD card.

If you get no output with bootmii and tried both cables, it could only really be bad A/V encoder or the GPU has come away from the board. (YLOD and RROD are common on PS3 and xbox, but does happen on the Wii too)

Really you only need to erase boot2, this will cause the Wii not to boot at all and would look like a failed boot2 update.

But bootmii will not allow you to overwrite boot2
