Black Screen, tihnking about getting new black wii, please help.

    Ok, here's the story:

I was really exited because I just got my custom channels working. I just hacked my Wii July 5th and all of this stuff was new to me. I took my SD card out to make another channel with CustomizeMii. As I went to put the SD card back in my Wii, I accidentally put it in the disk slot. I could NOT get this thing out. I tried unscrewing the head off to reach in there. Bad idea. It wouldn't budge. I plugged my Wii back in to see if I have done any true damage. I did. Black Screen.

So here's what I'm going to do:

I'm not sure if I should get a new Black Wii or get an old white Wii off of eBay. I do NOT want to send my Wii to Nintendo because if they fix it, they see my softmod and brick my Wii. If I get a new Wii, all my save data will be lost. I can't see a happy ending coming from this situation. I want someone smart to give me advice on what I should do, what road I should choose. I know Black Wii's can't read backup disc's or DVD's, but can they load backups from a Flash Drive? Can you even softmod a Black Wii? I need all the info I can get from someone smart. And before you think "I'm not spoon-feeding you" I have looked this stuff up on Google. Articles are no help. I need an actual person to help me so I can communicate with them. Please help me. Thanks to all in advance.

tl;dr: Got blackscreen. Need help deciding what to do.

You are the second person I am aware of who has somehow managed to do this (getting his SD card into the disc slot). I can't imagine that bricking your Wii, however. Fooling with CustomizeMii yes, doing this no. I have moved your thread to the bricked section of the site.

To answer your questions in the second paragraph: yes and yes. We can say spoonfeed all we want, especially when you say you've searched google with the implication you have not searched wiihacks. In any case, mauifrog's your guy on the brick issue --- I'm sure he'll offer some suggestions before you go the route of replacement. Heed him well, he has forgotten more than you or I will ever know --- I'm saying he's that adept, just to be crystal clear.

NO no no no, It's not bricked. I'm afraid if I send it to Nintendo they WILL brick it. It is not bricked. I've got black screen from shaking and fiddling with it. Thanks for your concern though.

Sure thing. A black screen from shaking it sounds like a brick to me (albeit, of a different kind). Your post has the sound of denial and desperation, good luck.

As a nod to Cile, borrowing from his simplistic but accurate definition: "Brick – This is when the console is damaged (Hardware or Software) and can’t be used in full. Some software bricks can be restored."

Ok... So I have a hardware brick. And my only SD card is in my Wii. Do you think I should send my Wii to Nintendo, and have them fix it. But If they fix it, and turn it on and see that I softmodded it. Then they software brick it. But I can reverse a software brick right?

Black screen could be you shaking loose the Bluetooth module --- that'd do it. Get a triwing screwdriver off Flea Bay and open'er up. Look here for an illustrated guide for doing so.

SD card just in your dvd drive will not cause a black screen. The drive might make some noise but thats about it.

Im with nightstah that it sounds like you shaken the bluetooth module loose or you bricked your Wii with customize mii and which you only found out once you rebooted.

nothing to do with the sd card (even tho you still need to get it out) and Nintendo do not say "oh, this is softmodded, lets brick it", they would just refuse to fix it.

Yes, I've had the plastic top disc spindle break off and floating around in there and no black screen. Just disc rejection and no spin up. I bet you knocked the bluetooth module or wi-fi card loose.
