    Help unbricking Wii 4.3

    Hello all,

I followed this tutorial (failtube link removed), skipping the part about downgrading to 4.1. I am able to access priiloader, homebrew channel, and bootmii, but when trying to access the system menu, I get a black screen. I have a 4.3U Wii system. Please help! Thank you.

ummm... ya. Let this be a lesson. DONT FOLLOW FAILTUBE VIDEOS. Look here.

Once you get it straightened out have a look around for a softmod guide and don't forget to introduce yourself in the intro section.

Yeah, thanks, I have been to that page. It mentions preloader and a variety of apps that can help, but not anything specific.

Moved you to the land of the lost. Removed the failtube link as well, in case other members decide to get creative and follow it.

Thank you Ithian, but I was reading the softmod guide posted on this forum (http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tml#post387090) and I find that the one I followed is the same exact steps.

That being the case, I would then assume something clearly went awry during the process. At any rate, your post is now in the appropriate location to receive the assistance you're looking for.

    New developments

Ok, I have encountered an interesting development. Since I could get into priiloader, I tried to launch neogamma to load an iso from a usb to see if it would work. Instead of the game loading, my wii actually went to the service menu

Now if I have the usb drive in the wii, it works like normal, but if i try to load a backup, it just goes back to the service menu. If I remove the usb drive, I get the black screen.

What hacks did you enable in priiloader? Hold reset and boot the wii into priiloader to find out.

What happens when you remove the sd-card and usb drive?

    Hacks:

Block Disk Update, Block Online Update, No-Delete HAXX,JODI,DVDX,DISC,DISK,RZDx

    USB/SD:

If I remove both, I get black screen, can't load priiloader. I CAN load priiloader if either the SD or the USB are present, so priiloader comes up if I remove SD and insert USB; priiloader works if I remove USB and insert SD. Nothing works at all without one of those inserted.

If I were you, I would run Dop-Mii to install IOS60-64-v6174 then install system menu 4.1U. This should fix your problem. There are no benefits to running system menu 4.3 anyway. Correct me if I'm wrong Mauifrog.

Here's the boot.dol for Dop-Mii to run in Priiloader.
