Bannerbrick 4.2E Wasabi DX, autoboot games work

    Hi,
I installed everything to play from USB, convertet my original games to wbfs and could start them - perfect.

Then I tryed to get usbloader to the main menu - Bad Mistake!
That's how i bannerbricked my Wii with 4.2E

I was a bit to fast and did Not install
    • anything of the needed safety tools
    • i thought i had installed BootMii as boot2 - i did not
    • Priiloader

I've put the Wasabi DX in and can now play burned DVDs (imation: Mario Kart and Galaxy 2) when i enable autoboot in the iso with BootMe.exe and burn with imgburn.

Sounds quite good for the start, the problem is:

When i put UUDv4 or LCUDv3 (burned the samy way as the games) in the drive starts spinning for about 5 seconds and shuts down.

How do i get one of the Recovery DVDs to work? Why can i play games, but not boot the Unbrick Disks?

    Please help me!

You can't boot the recovery discs as you don't have the Trucha bug patched to your system menu.

You have two options (that I know of):

    1. Depending on how much time you have, as well as how full your nand is, you can burn more autoboot games, and use their saves to fill up the nand. You can also use games that come with the ability to install channels to speed along the process (change their regions as well, and you can install each game like six times). Once your nand is full, the wii will prompt you to the data management screen where you can bannerbomb to load whatever means you choose to reinstall your system menu or remove the bad wad.

    or

    2. Burn an autoboot game of wiifit(plus), and when the system asks you if the date and time are incorrect, say its not. The wii will transfer you to the settings, and you choose to format the wii. Doing this won't mess with your system, but you'll lose all your saves and whatever channels you had installed.

Best of luck in whatever you choose... or wait for mauifrog to offer some more options.

Here is bit more detail into option 1 that zxm talked about. It says 4.1 & below but it also works for 4.2

Couldn't the OP just back out one level from here and go into Data Management to launch Bannerbomb?

BTW: absolutely genius. I have never heard this one before.

You can't. If you try to leave the settings menu, you'll get sent back to Wii Fit.

I'm pretty shure i installed (restored) the trucha bug. I Bannerbombed, installed Homeprew, USBlaoder GX and CFG USBloader, ... before bricking.
I thought i just need to launch a WAD Manager ... not reinstal Bannerbomb.

I can see my Version with a GC controller pressing all 4 directions.

Does Wasabi DX need to be set to autoboot (How?)? I already can autoboot games.

    1. My Wii is filled around 40%, remember around 3200 Blocks free (???). I'm afraid i don't habve enough games or the right ones to fill the nand this year.

    2. Sounds very interesting! And is new to me. Don't I need a board for Wii Fit? Any other games which do this? I'm trying to get the game.

Too bad, there is no direct way to Data management :-(

    Thank you very much zxm

You only tried two discs, so if you are sure you trucha patched the IOS, try some of these as well:

I tried to patch Mario Kart with WadManager 1.4 - does not accept the DVD after changing.

    @RedArrow, Thank you, but:
My Problem is: I cannot config Wasabi DX to autoboot. I have no access to a unbricked Wii.
Most other Disks are for lower Versions (3.x,...) not for 4.2.
I tired LoadMii and it's the same: Stars spinning and stops.

    @Mauifrog, Thank you, but:
Well, i also do not really understand why this is neccessary, because i can play self burned Games Mario Kart, Galaxy 2.
    I have no Castlevania Judgment.
    I have no Balance board.
Twilight Hack neesd access to the data management, right? If i could do the this i would have repaired it by now. It's only working on 3.4, right?

I would also update to 4.3 to repair it, but how?

I thought you said you could already autoboot games? If this is the case, then your modchip is already configured to autoboot games. You can use The Speed Demon Data Management Method that is the link I posted in Post #3. Or you could download Castlevania Judgement to use the method Mauifrog suggested. However The Castlevania Judgement method requires the trucha patch, so failing that, your best choice is the SDDm Method.
