Oh, also... why cant you just play the game and save it, then copy over the save game.... which is exactly what the wii is telling you to do?

Because my Wii will not run any games, backups or originals anymore, they wont start since I used Waninkokos 4.2 updater and lost all the homebrew. I don't think the DVD is screwed as it does recognize the originals, they just won't start up.

I have the WiiKey 1 installed, not sure if it supports or has updates disabled or not.

Yeah, when I pop a game in it shows it in the disc channel, opens the screen when disc channel is clicked, but upon starting the game its a black screen.

sounds like you are missing an ios the game needs. try removing/disabling the chip and run the game, it will probably prompt to update.

let it and it should run, if so, then do the exploit with save game etc.

Well the chip is on a Wii Clip. I already removed it once and it made no difference to running the game, still black screen. tries updating via system update which also made no difference. I think the NAND is well and truly corrupted.
