Partial brick, data management --> channels freezes my wii

well basically i was unstalling a bunch of old vc games i dont play to make room for new ones. when i noticed a channel that was a question mark that took up 264 blocks... i clicked erase... i waited an hour i then decided my wii was locked up... i power cycled it. at this point. i turned my wii back on and went back to data management --> to continue uninstalling channels. to my dismay the wii froze. i could only move my cursor and press home. when i pressed home it allowed me to go back to the wii menu... at which point i got a black screen. i power cycled again... this is about where we're at now... other than this the wii functions normally.

this also makes me realize that i tried to format my wii and all my channels - and save data remained. my miis were deleted. but i dont think my format took too well either.

anyways i went to any title deleter and continued to uninstall channels, it allowed me to uninstall all those i wanted to remove except for mario rpg and bust-a-move plus which even lock up anytitle deleter during uninstall at which point i must power cycle.

is there a 3rd party app that functions like data management, where i can move channels to my sd card or usb hard drive, or just install them there to begin with.. that way if i cant fix it i can still install more of my beloved vc games. and continue to play. i would like them to come up as channels in the home screen if at all possible.

any help would be super appriciated, im new to wii mods but ive hard modded several xboxes and am very computer savvy... and more than willing to learn.

    thanks
    -Spiff

That is never helpful. How old is your wii? Do you have boot2 bootmii? You where uninstalling these from data managment when the issue started? What softmods are you using? USB loading? What system menu do you have? Try to remove sd:\private, see if that changes anything in data management. Back it up to your pc.

Did you install bootmii to boot2? Or only Homebrew channel.

I would backup your savegames and try another system format. Before you do anything, you need to have bootmii installed as boot2. I you don't have it or don't know, follow the softmod guide linked below to bring your wii up to speed. Then we can try some stuff.

Download the hackmii from my guide. Copy sd:\boot.dol/elf
    copy it to sd:\apps\hackmii\boot.dol/elf
Then load HBC and launch hackmii from there. Install bootmii to boot2. The format should not take that long, so something is screwed up.

okey i tried to format, it froze up again, and removed some data but, i still freeze up when i go to data management --> channels. when i attempted to format it removed all my homebrew apps and homebrew, same as last time i will no longer have any custom cios, so i am back to page one, a stock wii. where should i go from here...

should i find a way to fix the data management problem first? or should i just softmod it following your guide?
