Bricked or Broken Wii need help

So My wii started acting weird a while ago, it would randomly not turn on then a while later it would. then it eventually stopped working. I get a black screen at startup and doesnt go any further. I have used the gamecube controller savemiifree and got a 3.3(usa) then that goes away after about 30 seconds. I figured it was either the blutooth module or wifi module so I replaced those and now I'm still getting the same thing. I have no hard or soft mods it is a stock out of warranty wii. Can anyone help me figure out wtf i did to this thing and if there is anything I can do to salvage it. or if I am just totally f*ed in the a**. Thanks beforehand for any help.

I think your wii has a hardware failure. You can send it to Nintendo to repair it (you will have to pay though), or you could sell it on ebay (some people use it for spare parts) and buy a new one.
Awesome sig picture does not work

Just to be clear, what modifications were done to it previously? Hardmod or softmod? Did you do anything before it finally gave up it's life and started blackscreening on you? (I'm moving this to the bricked wii section even though it does sound like a hardware issue.) We do have one or two people who know about hardware, hopefully they can shine some light on this.

do u know anyone else with a WII if so borrow there power adapter and use that this could be a stab in the dark but worth a try other than that it could be overheating the fan may not be working right

There are absolutly no mods on this machine, I know one buddy who has a wii but he is unavailable for the moment. The only thing I can think of is that it might have overheated the unit itself, the fan is working. I'd really not like to send this thing to nintendo b/c that would be a real pain in the a** and if I'm gonna spend 100 bucks on this thing I'd rather part it out on ebay and get a new wii since this one is a first gen.

First gen wii's are actually better, because you can install boomtii as boot2 on them, making it unbrickable.

I repair a lot of Wii's and buy a lot of bricked/broken ones to strip for parts and i've only had 2 Wii's that have had a serious hardware failure.

Both were similar to xbox RROD, with the hollywood chip coming disconnected etc, which provided similar issues to what you are describing.

only thing I can suggest to test if its actually the above issue, is softmod the wii and leave it in bootmii overnight and see if the fault happens again.

sound to me like its overheating or problems with the power
like i said try a different power cable first.

worked on plenty of P.C's and this sounds similar to an overheating system don't know how much a new fan costs if its only a couple of qid/dollars maybe worth buying one and trying that but i would try the power cable first i may be totally wrong but il rather try the free options first be4 spending out money

The fan is working fine, I have the whole thing disassembled and know it powers up fine. Is it possible to soft mod the wii when it wont go past the boot sequence? all I get is black screen or just the 3.3 usa screen using savemiifree but past that it doesnt do anything. I'm gonna search through all the boards and see if I can find anything loose or a broken solder point or anything. Thanks for the replies. I'm an American btw
