Bad_Ad84 i'm rocking boot2v4. You right about the socket, I don't know what I was thinking, but it was fun to do anyway. (Made the removable cover and everything, so no need to disassemble wii.)
I just have a little oops to take care of with preloader hack.ini (not there). Shouldn't be bad to take care of from what I've read.
Socket is something I need to do, as im currently trying to figure out how bad block management works on the Wii, so I need to keep replacing the chip with test layouts

It says it failed to open the setting.txt from the NAND, although I loaded the setting.txt from the SD card (pressed B and then A). Please help.

    " (pressed B and then A) "

You did this on the same step, or you pressed B then after the formatter displayed the serial number it read from within the setting.txt on the sd card, you confirmed this and then pressed A?

It sounds like your trying to read setting.txt from NAND. Pay close attention, to where the NAND option is, because at one time its A, then another it's B.

DVD should be left at 0, I have no idea what this does. The "game" needs to match the system menu that is installed. So if you installed 4.1u it should be "US"

    Hello all,
I posted back from 224-234 asking about reformatting the wii. After some discussion the black screen was thought to be either a bluetooth or a wifi module fail. Since then I have replaced both. I ran bootmii on boot2 and once again followed all the steps from post 1. All wads installed however the wii never resets. Any ideas?

You need a gc controller for this, but you can do the same thing with the NAND.bin formater without a gc controller.
