That is a semi brick causes by an incorrect region change.

If you followed my guide and had it use your existing setting.txt, then your setting.txt region does not match the region you are trying to install.

    Ok,

Your setting.txt is set to USA by the sound of things.

You need a gamecube pad and to follow this guide - http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...ce-holder.html

The pictures from the actual wii are from the old guide and wont be 100% correct.

but once you create your setting.txt and start the wii part, it should be easy to work out.

just load setting.txt from sd card when prompted.

    Help please

    hi,
never asked for help before, but im stuck with 2 wii's that were both softmodded using the bannerbomb exploit a while ago, they both worked fine untill someone updated from a retail disc,

both wii's have been updated to 4.3e and the disc channel wont work and the backup launcher wont load, hbc has been removed and i have no nand backup or bootmi installed. is there any other way i can get these wii's back working? or even just the retail games working.

any help would be really appreciated

    Overview
If you have bricked your Wii or have a severe issue that is causing things not to work correctly, you may benefit from using the NAND formatter. This really should be your LAST option after all else fails, as there are some downsides/side effects.

    Side effects
Although the NAND formatter is a great tool and can fix pretty much any software issue, there are some side effects.

After using the formatter, the file permissions on the NAND are not as they were originally from Nintendo. This generally isn't an issue, but if you are trying to format your Wii before sending the console to the Big N (not something I support, you voided the warranty by choice) they could possibly see this and reject your claim. Also Any Region Changer doesnt like these new permissions and will give you an error - ISFS_SETATTR -102.

If you wanted to region change a Wii that has been NAND formatted. You would need to reformat the Wii and create a setting.txt with the new region.
What if the Wii is updated online with a new system menu from Nintendo? Would the mentioned side effects still remain? or would the update change the file permission back to the original ones from Nintendo? After the update can "Any Region Changer" be used without any error?

I hope someone can test it or maybe I will try once I have my console back.

I may have a few questions for you Bad_Ad84 before I start the task. Will get in touch with you soon.

At-least now I know I can count on you for getting the console repaired if anything goes wrong .

If anything goes wrong, you will be able to fix it yourself now, you have bootmii installed now so you can just follow this guide if needed.
