    There was an article on hackmii, they predicted 1 out of 1000 wii's would brick.

    hi here is what happened i had homebrew on my wii and other ios/cios and trucha bug and I was stupid enough to update to 4.2 using metroid prime trilogy after the update it turned off I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't go to the system menu no
    bootmii no preloader but I do have a gamecube controller and a brawl disc would the exploit work with savemiifrii

    Smash Stack won't work because Super Smash Bros Brawl won't autoboot from the recovery menu. Besides, your update failed, so your recovery menu is pretty much busted. Try savemiifrii though, I could be wrong. If you can get the recovery mode, tell us here.     To bad for you Metroid Prime Trilogy does not have 4.2 update, it would have been good if it did. I don't know what it has, probably 3.4 and you probably downgraded to 3.2 from 4.0. Then you updated to 3.4 with ios50-v5120 installed, which stubbed your system ios. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. A brick of this type can only be fixed with bootmii or a nand programmer.
