Will a solderless modchip help me with my bricked wii?

I have a 3.4 wii that I have had for over a year. I had it softmodded just the way I liked it and was always adding improvements to it. I recently made the fatal mistake of trying to add one of those new background themes to my wii. I should have read the warnings. I put the matrix theme in and now all that happens when I turn it on, all I get is a picture of the matrix and nothing else. I modded my wii over a year ago with the twighlight hack. Is there any hope for me on this getting it unbricked? If all else fails, will a modchip help me fix it?

Do you have priiloader or bootmii installed as boot2?

answer krafter's question and I'm also moving this to the bricked wii section. Also see if you can pull up recovery mode with a GC controller if none of the suggested things work.

If you have boot2 bootmii or priiloader(not on 3.4), use those to load wadmanager and reinstall your system ios and system menu.

Otherwise use savemiifrii and run a game with a 4.x system menu update. Use a retail game, no modchip required.

No, I dont have bootmii and dont think it has preloader. I have had the origanal twilight hack and and have never updated anything on it. I had usbloader on it,if that helps. I tried the GC controller and nothing worked. I have not even seen another person with my problem. I dont get the black screne of death like some, I get just a picture of matrix.

If the Twilight hack is still installed in the wii's memory, you can autoboot a Twilight game (using a solderless modchip & savemiifrii) to enter anytitledeleter & delete the theme. Try getting into the recovery mode again, it may take opening the gc controller & removing bits of plastic from the inside, but since you are getting the matrix picture it might be some kind of feature menu or something. Try running games by inserting them & waiting? This problem is confusing.

I wondered, I saw a lot of videos of people taking there gamecube contollers a part to do this trick. Are you just suppose to press all four directions at once? I tried press all 4 directions at once, but didnt take my controller apart. I havent put a mod chip in yet either. Still waiting to order it. I love all the advice I'm getting. I feel like I'm so close. Its a learning process.

I tried with mine, I didn't take them apart, it doesn't work. Are you sure the matrix picture isn't some kind of feature, I've seen a few vids that show people having these pictures, but pressing A gets them to the wii menu. Try getting to the recovery mode first, take apart your gc controller, then press down on all directions. If it comes up it shows us that you're definitely bricked, but when you do get the modchip, since you have the Twilight hack installed you can delete your theme with an Autobooting Zelda game.

He does not have the Twilight hack installed. He could install if you wished, but he does not have it now.

When you say "autobooting the Zelda game" do you mean put the zelda disk in? Well to answer your comment about the matrix picture being a feature, it's suppose to be, but the word " Press A to Continue" doesnt show up and does nothing else which leads me to believe its bricked. From what I get, it sounds like the modchip is my only hope. I think it will be a learning experience to do a modchip. I usually research all I do before I do my hacks so I feel dumb after doing what I did to my wii. Keep the info coming. Thanks:)
