The modchip was installed after the wii bricked, and as far as i know it is not set to autoboot, and i cannot enter the settings menu...

I can move the chip to a working wii, and configure autoboot, and move it back... But wouldnt that make the chip loose its config, along with loosing power due to the transfer from one wii to another?

As the above post mentioned, you don't need the Trucha Bug to autoboot legit games; only for those discs that require the trucha. Essentially, you're going to need to config the discs to autoboot before you burn them. There's a program that does it automatically, but I never had any luck with it. There's also a way to do it manually using BootMe, which worked for me. Check out this thread for further details: http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...-can-i-do.html

And no. If it is configed to autoboot on another wii, it'll be configed to autoboot when you move it.

Try burning a disc first as it may be set to autoboot. My wiikey was shipped set to autoboot, and I didn't request for such to be the case.

    Well...

you don't need the Trucha Bug to autoboot legit games
What do you mean? A: Legit meaning that an unmodified ISO was burned onto a DVDR disc, or B meaning it is a game on the original disc, from the original casing? I hope its A you mean.

To make a wii disc autoboot, you set the first HEX character to 1, basically, right?

Are you positive about the settings on the drivekey chip? I ask because i dont like opening the wii, unless there is really something to it

EDIT: Can the wii autoboot on a DVD-/+RW discs? Or must it be DVD-/+R

option A - this is handled by the mod chip, not any softmod/trucha.

    yes, setting is saved.

Okay - so this idea is on the table again:
you can load WiiFit, say the date is incorrect
Burn an UNTOUCHED (apart from the autoboot hex char) WiiFit disc, and launch the game from there - and then say the date is incorrect, and enter the settings menu to format the wii, and remove the bad WAD? Confirm?

A VC game (SMB for SNES), but the problem is that i had manually unpacked the wad, modified the content (pics and text, via a guide) and repacked the wad again.... STUPID AS .... I know now The Wii bricked.. I dont have the old WAD anymore (there is 1% chance i have it, somewhere), so uninstalling it via WAD Manager is not possible, but anytitle deleter could do it, as i know the WADs ID (The 4 char ID made from region, 2 random chars, and the last one i dont remember)....

Yay Is this fuzzy feeling that hope you were mentioning the other day

If it works, its superb, if not, its just a pretty white thing, as always

I will test it ASAP, and report back..

    ---->

    Hello again.

To make all this work, i planned to start out by making a copy of the Wii Fit disc via USB Loader GX, and then extracting the ISO from my HDD with WBFS Manager, and from there burn the ISO onto a DVDR...

In order to do this, i read about the settings regarding the install option, and thats what my question is about...

There is an option to install a "1:1 copy" and an option to install "all partitions". All partitions is the same as 1:1 - but the 1:1 copy includes the garbage data... Now is the question - will the ISO be authenthic without the garbage data? The ISO is 8 GB with the garbage data, and 4.3 GB without.. So i would prefere the without-option

    *sorry for reposting*

You should be able to autoboot most games that are not modified. Use Wii BootMe to set the iso to autoboot if needed. TBR is not needed to autoboot games, that is the whole point of SSDm and the wiifit method. Review post # 8, #6 and #5 from this post
    http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...oot-disks.html

It may have already been said, but updating will not fix your wii, so don't try.
