    Jap Wii semi bricked

hello, my girlfriend bought a wii form her friend and bring it to my house. I tried to adjust some settings on the wii and noticed the wii cant enter the settings and gives an opera error. Will reinstalling the system menu fix the semi brick? BTW the wii has bootmii installed both on ios and boot 2 and I already backed up the nand and installed cios rev17. and help on what to do and how to fix this? thanks

Yes, Reinstalling your IOS & System Menu will fix this. What firmware are you on? Each version & region has a different menu WAD.

If you have the homebrew Channel, run WAD Manager to re-install the IOS First, then your system menu. If you do not have the homebrew Channel installed, you can run "Smash Stack", the Super Smash Bros Brawl exploit to re-install the WADs using WAD Manager. Both methods will require a SD Card.

I have the homebrew channel and Wad manager 1.4 and I downloaded 0000000100000002-NUS-v384.wad from NUSD. I am 1 step away from installing this, kindly tell me if I am doing it correctly. I don't want to make the wii worser.

    First, Install This: IOS50-64-v4889.wad
    Then, install this: System Menu-3.4J-v384.wad

If you install the system menu first, you wil brick further, so install the IOS first using WAD Manager. Can you get to WAD Manager?

Better still. Update to 4.1 using this http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...l-working.html

    And install Priiloader http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...8-0-4-r78.html

which will block disc and internet updates.

It's pretty much guaranteed that someone will update from disc or internet and brick it again otherwise.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
