When you did the guide, you did the dop-ios portion and patched ios70? This is important. Assuming you did that, you can install a modchip preconfigured to autoboot, then boot recovery disks, like the autobooting HBC disk. Without the patched ios70 you won#t be able to boot the custome disks, and can only boot games in your wii#s region. The fix is much more difficult without the patch, but the guide says to patch it so I will assume you did.

After you fix your wii the modchip will not affect your usbloading, or any of your softmodds.

    Hi,

I remember to follow the guide very strictly, so I believe that I patched IOS70.
After running the recovery disk, I won't need the modchip anymore? The wii comes back to the way it was before?

Yes, once you fix it, it will be as before. You don#t need the chip after that, so keep it or sell it. What was the wad you installed?

I installed a couple of game WADs using WAD manager 1.5. Wads were created with Loadconstractor 1.7.
Wads were for Wii Sports resort, Boy and hid blob.
    After reboot, the wii bricked.

Strange thing is before installing the Wads, I ran the games using gx loader, with forcing error 2 fix.
Restarting the wii after running the games made the "health" screen look black and white for a while, but it was ok (a little blurred), at next restart.

    Hi Mauifrog,

Had some progress based on you inputs, tnx.

I have purchased the wasabi DX, installed it and trying to boot the wii. Behavior is the same - banner brick. I loaded one of the recovery DVDs (autoboot wad manager) and I get error mgs "Error occurred. Press the eject button...".
    - How can I access the Wasabi menus to make sure its autobooting?
    - This error means that the disk is back or some other problem?
    - I saw many threads recommending to use the gamecube to load the disk, is it mandatory?

    Hope you can assist,
    Tnx,
    Oden

Try to autoboot New HBC AB.rar

and try to autoboot a game.

Since you got that error, I suggests that your wii is trying to boot the disk. If only the game boots, then your system ios in not patched.

If you get the health screen, you probably don't need a gc-controller.

    Hi Mauifrog,

Trying to load the ISO you provided, yielded the same error message.
I was however able to load the AutoBoot Universal Unbrick Disc V2.

When loading this disk I get the WAD manager 1.3 screen, and after selecting SD as source device I get:
[+] Initializing libfat, pleas wait... OK!
[+] Retrieving device contents, please wait... ERROR! (ret = -1)

The SD was the original one that worked before, I then formatted it and put a single WAD, problem still happens.

I tried also loading a game - wii sports, but nothing happens (its ignored).

BTW, does this mean the wasabi is configured as autoboot? (I tried accessing its configuration with 3 clicks on eject but nothing happens).

    I'm stuck again. Any idea?
    Appreciate your help,
    Thanks,
    Oden

    It finally works.
mauifrog - you are the man!!!

The (final) problem was trying to access an SDHC with WAD manager 1.3 and few failures in burning the recovery disks.

I removed the faulty WADs and wii is back to normal.

    Great advice, thanks.
