Question Failed at downgrading a 4.1U and bricked (blank screen)

I just bought a wii that was modded i remember it had 4.1U with neogamma and usb loader and hbc... but it wasnt done by me.
So i figured i would 'virginize' the wii by using the guide here on the forums. I only got to step one... downgrading to 3.2 (succesfully downloaded and completed installation) but when i clicked home to exit the downgrader it just said restarting and froze there for like 10-15 minutes

i decided to turn off from the power button.... but when i started it back up it just boots into a black screen... did i just screw myself??

i remember accessing bootmii once from HBC... but when i tried this guide thats in the sticky it wouldnt load on boot... so i'm guessing bootmii is not in boot2...

i also tried pressing reset while powering on but nothing

is there anything else i can try?

if it helps i have an LU63

thanks for the help in advance!

You probably had IOS30 v2816, which is a STUB.
Version lower than v2816 is required for system menu 3.2

if the wii has vulnerable boot1 in it than you can revive it with an infectus mod chip and flash bootmii into the nand.
See my sig for more details...

Nothing will get you recovered from this full brick except from erikie's guide.... we need to make a new virginise guide, this one is pretty old. Downgrading is unnecessary now plus very very dangerous

@erikie, can't one flash a vulnerable boot1??and if i remember well, a boot2 can only be flashed if bootmii could have been installed in boot2 in the first place

You are right if you want to get bootmii into the nand you need to have boot1b installed. The newer versions don't have the trucha bug anymore in it.
However it also helps if you have a full backup of the nand. That can be restored as well with the infectus. But it will take a bit longer to flash (90 minutes compared to 1 min to get bootmii into the nand...)

If you have a vulnerable boot1 on a bricked wii then you can flash bootmii into the nand. You need to have the same or higher version of boot2 with bootmii files though.
When you can get into bootmii unbricking the wii is a breeze

how do i know if i have a vulnerable boot1?? also if i remember correctly i could only access bootmii from the homebrew channel... i could never access it by just having the SD card in the wii and turning it on and having it on boot... so i am guessing that means it was installed in IOS... does that make things difficult?

i wonder how long it will take to ship the infectus to saudi arabia

i bought this as a gift for my mom... and i guess i learnt the hard way... if it aint broke... dont fix it
I'm off to cause trouble for the establishment

Only old wiis have a vulnerable boot1. Nintendo fixed it somewhere in 2008. So probably all wiis bought around aug 2008 and later have a fixed boot1 in it.
No one knows exactly when this changed. However if you made a nand backup with bootmii you can still save it.
If not and your wii is new then there is no need to buy an infectus anyway...
