    Bricking with no HBC!

I had a wii that had a backup loader, HBC and preloader (is this the same as priiloader?) with a 4.1U. I wanted to be able to play rockband 2 so I tried DogEggs guide to hacking the menu. I needed to play RB2 from the disc loader for the instruments to work so his guide was my best bet. So I skipped to the part with installing the 4 wads he listed via wad manager. After that, I restarted my wii and got bricked. I had the wii system files corrupted screen, but it was blurred and unclear. I figured it was a banner brick and the bad wads would be the four i just installed since everything was working fine prior to the wad install. So I held reset and went to preloader. I went to HBC and uninstalled these wads": IOS38-64-v3867
    IOS50-64-v4889
    IOS53-64-v5406
    IOS55-64-v5406
I encountered an error with IOS50-64-v4889 uninstall but the others uninstalled fine. I was told by Nightstah that that wasn't such a good idea after I did it. I just though it was the logical thing to do. Now, I have the system menu version 4.1U on the bottom left of a black screen. I tried to load preloader again and go to HBC but now it says that HBC isn't installed. So now I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Any ideas? I was thinking I should install HBC again and try wad manager to install the second one again though I'm not really sure. I don't have NAND backup by the way. I have a GC controller that doesn't work on preloader but my wiimote can navigate it. That's pretty much all I know about my wii. Help please?

Maui Frog generally helps in these matters (Maui: save the "never uninstall an IOS under 200" speech --- he's ex post facto keenly aware), FYI... good luck tandoroin!

Load preloader and click hacks- ensure that "recovery menu" is disabled

I'm not sure if you have this option in preloader (I have priiloader) but download sysCheck copy the boot.dol onto the root of your sd card. Boot up into preloader select "load/install file", then highlight boot.dol and press the 1 button on your wiimote if you have that option or go back to preloader main menu and select installed file. It will make an ios report on you sd card. Open it up with excel if you have it or any text editor. Cut and paste the results here.
If you found this helpful please click the Thanks button.

On my preloader screen (v0.29), it says IOSv60, System Menu v449. I haven't been able to do the Syscheck yet. I'll do it tonight. I tried changing the settings and noticed that I got a different brick screen with certain system menu hacks enabled. If I enabled autoboot or disc start with IOS Reload to 249, I go straight to the system files corrupted. If I disable all, I get to see the health screen and after pressing A, I get the system files corrupted. I get the 4.1 USA with autoboot without the IOS Reload to 249. I haven't read anyone get something like this yet.

I'm not sure if I have the recovery menu option on preloader. There are 3 options in the end that I can't read. 2 of them show something like this:
    Blackscreen at wii menu startup
s...)r cannot load channel (not sure if t*shows enabled or disabled* wo

I'm not sure if this is what you meant but manipulation of these three or combinations of enabled and disabled have led to similar results as the ones stated above. The Blackscreen at wii menu startup enabled leads to a black screen without the 4.1 USA though.

Thanks guys, I've been at this for around 2 weeks now and with my PC crashing, I've had to try to fix this in and out of the house. I really appreciate it.

disable all the preloader hacks, reboot the wii. Hold + and - at the health screen, then push A a few times while holding. Does the system menu load?

Also ensure that ios60 is set as ios in preloader settings.

    Did you install ios60patched.wad ?
Did you install ios60patched.wad before or after preloader install?

I did notice something that shows the number 55**** in the preloader settings though. I'll make sure if I can select ios60 later as well as the + - thing. I don't know however if ios60 was installed prior or after the preloader install. The wii came already hacked to play back-ups with a 4.1 menu so I assume it has ios60. The before or after, I can't be sure really. I'll get back to you guys soon as I find out tonight.

I was able to go to the menu with the + - once but weirdly enough, I couldn't do it again. Is it a trial error type of thing and just keep on trying again? When I got in, it didn't detect the boot.elf. So I had to exit. I downloaded a new copy from DogEggs guide but I couldn't get back to the menu screen. As for selecting ios60, I couldn't. Does that mean I don't have it installed? Isn't it a requirement for 4.1 to function? It was working well at 4.1 prior to my failed update. The highest the option had was 57. It's on 5591108 right now. I'm afraid to change it until further advice.

@Baboo: Haven't done the syscheck yet. Don't have a pc at home so I'll try to do it by this weekend. Sorry mate.

Here's the syscheck details. Sorry it took awhile. Went on an immersion trip for a week building houses for the natives.
Technically, I'm no longer bricked. I changed the ios to 60 in preloader. Problem is now, I can't install homebrew. boot.elf isn't detected once I get into the sd card. My sd card look exactly like the picture in dogeggs guide. I also don't know what I should reinstall given the bricking issue. Any suggestions?
