Installed a drivekey to Unbrick my Wii, but cant get Autoboot discs to work.

Wii is stuck at System files corrupt, after the health screen. Installed a drivekey and use the Gcube controller mod to boot. I am running 3.2U but Anyregion changer and some other help remedies wont boot from that screen. Burned 2x on good media, but discs like Wad Manager and that Wii System Update disc work. The screen either goes black or keeps chilling at the 3.2U in the corner.

My wii was previous soft modded, and the brick happened randomly weeks after i last installed anything. I just want a clean install of the next updated system menu. perhaps 3.4U.

The only real tool that works is Wad Manager, and a lot of the tools i need are .doll. What can i use in wad manager to overwrite my previous wads/ and corrupt system files.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out on this one.

You migth be able to use the Maintenance mode, that's holding - and + and stabbing at A a few times.

It's strange for a Wii to fall sick after some weeks without any changes. Are you sure you haven't installed a bad game channel or something, because that's what it sounds like.

Are you able to autoboot games? Filling the Wii NAND with game saves and stuff from every game you could lay your hands on can also boot you into data management.

The most useful application to boot would be Any Title Deleter or even better ATD Mod.

You can try to re-install IOS30 v1040 and System Menu v289 and see if that works, that'll be something you can do via Wad manager. Uninstalling a bad wad however is tricky unless you know which one it is.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

After several attempts, Maintenance Mode didn't load. It just went to the "System Files are Corrupt" after health screen. I had HBC before it bricked so its possible one that one of the games went bad.

It will auto boot the Wad Mananger, without having to use the gamecube controller trick. But it wont autoboot smash bros or tenchu. I want to use ATD but its a dol, and I dont think you can do that from a wad manager. The other messed up thing is that it booted anyregion changer once, and when i hit 3.2U (which was also my native copy) it seemed to install it, but the wii never recovered, and now the disk never boots.. (scary)

I followed that one guide for unbricking with drivkey, where at the end you put in the Wii System Update tool and the last step is going to delete all and it would hopefully wipe out my wads. II "Hit A twice to confirm" and it just said please wait and stuck.

Thats really unfortunate that you have to have the a copy of the wad, to uninstall one. I wish i would have kept track. T_T Is there a way I can get HBC to boot before the system menu. That way i could really get in there and clean it out. Anything else I can try?

Hey I tried installing the IOS30 v1040 and half way through installing it said Adding Content #26... ERROR Could not read file data.
I downloaded the file twice to make sure it wasnt corrupt.

Also the System menu installer is ERRORing at "Installing Ticket" Ugh.

I hope that indicate something, for better or for worst. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't boot that disk. The 3.2U disappeared like it would load it up, but it went to black screen, and now that i think of it, that's what Anyregion does too. The games are not even loading with the gcube trick. screen goes black, disk keeps spinnin, drive just flashes blue a couple times to taunt me. What Gives?

Why is my Wii so GD uncooperative!? Wii's silent response: because you f___ed me up michael.

I am going to readu p some more abou the patching app to make sure im doing it right. I will also try the Autoboot patch. Gracias.

So I tried the IOS patcher again to no avail. Since Wad manager was one of only tools that was working i tried upgrade my System menu and IOS's for 3.4u. (previously had 3.2u) Installed all the wads successfully except one, which i was going to redownload since i got a -1 error.

Restarted the Wii to absolutely NO VIDEO. T_T

Mind you, i did buy the shittiest looking component cables ive ever seen, i dont have another pair to test at this moment. but uh... was that a big fail? No video after installign a wad. no health screen no nothin..

I am about to commit a ritual disembowellment over here, because defeat is washing over me.
