    Bricked Wii Issue...

I know you all are probably getting tired of the questions about unbricking the Wii console, but I, too, am now one of the many it's happened to. I've tried the preloader method and the gamecube controller method, but I can't seem to get it to boot properly. What it does is it'll power on, but stay a blank screen. This means I can't do maintenance mode, go to the system menu or anything of the sort. I guess I should've left it alone earlier when I went to downgrade, but like the idiot I am, I went forward with it, and now I'm trying my hardest to fix it without getting a $50 modchip.

It sounds like your downgrade FAILED. This could be caused from a variety of reasons. Perhaps you neglected to install the appropriate system ios for the system menu you installed, or perhaps you downgraded to a system menu with a system ios that does not support your hardware. Regardless the only fix for this is a boot2 bootmii installation, or a nand programmer requiring a nand dump with key.bin if your wii does not support boot2 bootmii installs. Preloader would be removed with the system menu install, so it can not help you. Savemiifrii and savemii also will not help as they require a functional recovery, which you likely do not have. So a mod chip will not help you.

No need to apologize to me, I love these questions, but I prefer the ones with a fixable solution. Sorry I can not help you further. I think you need a new wii or send it to Nintendo.

Thank you for the reply, Mauifrog. I may have to do just that, but since my brother has an old wii which works, but doesn't boot games, I'll be using parts from his to get mine running again if necessary. Thank you again.
