    A massive thank you to you Tealc ! Followed your advice and my wii( well my sons wii) is back in working order plus i've got the shopping channel update i was after.

    Life is so much easier when the kids are happy.

    Wish i knew where i'd gone wrong in the first place but hey ho. Thanks again m8

    Just sounds like a partial update that went a little pear shaped. I'm not sure why this would happen though as Waninkoko's safe updaters are normally fine to use. Updating because Nintendo say you must update is always asking for trouble, but at least you did try and do it safely, so respect to you for that.

    Glad you got the Wii working for your kids again.
    Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    Slight query/problem following on from this thread !

    When i put the F1 game into the wii i got a system update message in the disk channel. I was still able to play the game through neo-gamma though. Thing is i wanted that message removing so my son wouldn't accidently press update when i'm not there.

    I know preloader has the option to skip this update so i tried to install preloader o.29. This resulted in me being returned to a similar problem to the one at the beginning of this thread. Slight difference is its just a black screen with no message. Any ideas on where i have gone wrong ?

    nothing happens when you start the wii with the reset button pressed? if not then your sysmenu IOS is probably missing
