Bricked Korean Wii With Firmware 3.3

Here's the summary of my problem. (Actually, it's my daughter's WII, and she bricked it. But, I was able to collect these information.) There is a similar post to this, but this post contains the detailed explanation of all the situation .

    >A Korean Wii with 3.3 firmware version.

    >It has got auto boot enabled Drivekey with Korean settings on jumper.

    >While trying to run a copied "RVL Wii Music (Pal)", it asked for an update. After this firmware update and then system restart, WII got bricked. It shows health screen and asks to "Press A to continue". But, when I press A, screen goes blank and WII stops responding. Before firmware update, the health warning message used to be displayed in a Korean language but after this wrong firmware update, it is displayed in English. More about the game called WII Music (Pal) which caused this brick, it contained a firmware 3.3E_v1 with ISO30 anti Homebrew inside. (Got this information from WII Update Manager).

    >No TP Hack, no HBC, no Bootmii, no NAND backup, nothing. (I heard that Korean WII 3.3 without TP Hack and HBC cannot be repaired. Is it so? Also, will NAND re-flashing help? But I don't have backup of NAND.)

    >I used Savemefrii and it booted to rescue screen with firmware 3.3(KOR) at the bottom.

    >I tried to boot from autoboot discs. Tried "Nintendo's Offical Wii BackUp Disk v1.31", "Universal Unbrick Disc V2", "Auto-boot enabled game disc", and many more, but no success. None of them auto-boot. Those disc spins for few second, then stop. Non of them were able to boot.

It's just a Korean WII with Auto-boot enabled Drivekey on it and nothing else. I can go through a very tricky and complex process as I can't send it to Nintendo as I'm outside US. Also, I'm familiar with both software & hardware mod.

The autoboot discs probably don't work because you don't have the Trucha Bug (it's blocked at 3.3). You need to force your wii into the data screen and run bannerbomb, or the settings screen and format it (not the best option).

You can force the wii into the data screen by filling up the nand with saves and channels. Burn a whole lot of autoboot games to fill it up (ones that use a lot of save space or can install channels), or use a Guitar Hero and fill up the nand with free downloadable songs.

If that method is too tedious and you're feeling a bit brave, you could use WiiFit to force the Wii to the settings screen (by saying that the time is incorrect) and formatting. I wouldn't recommend this though, as you have a Korean wii and I'm not sure what a format does to it.

Thanks for the information. But, the main problem with me is: I am not able to auto-boot any game or setups even though my chip is configured to auto-boot.

You have to patch each game to autoboot. There's some program that does it.

Also, you could try making your wii update it's system menu by autobooting a disc with a higher firmware and having it update the wii. Please note though, I would wait for a more senior member to confirm what I'm saying as I really don't know what effect these methods would have on a korean wii (the system menu update should be 4.0 or lower).

Previously, I have used "Wii Auto-boot Creator" to patch it before I auto-boot it. Here, main problem is, I am not able to auto-boot any disc even though they are patched to auto-boot before burning them into DVD-R.

Yeah, I had a problem with that program as well. I ended up using BootMe. Problem is you have to manually change it to autoboot.

    Make a folder
    c:\wii
    or similar

you could click start, run- cmd

    then type
    cd \
    then type
    mkdir wii

    then type
    cd \wii

now copy your game iso and wii bootme to c:\wii

Then go back to the command promt

    type
    BootMe MarioKart.iso a
The iso I was using was MarioKart (and named as such). You would put the appropriate name of your respective iso in its place.

Perhaps your chip is not configured to autoboot.

Thanks. But I had been trying these both methods of auto boot from few days back. Yet, no success so far.

Ya. It is configured to autoboot. I bought an auto boot enabled modchip from Welcome to Modchip Depot - Modchip-Depot.com.

Try to use regionfrii to change the disk region to K or region free
    Patch the iso to autoboot

You may need to download the whole KOR-Animal Crossing City Folk
Your region brick + the Korean wii could be causing you some unique troubles.
When I region changed my Korean wii, I bannerbricked it in the process and it would not autoboot mario.
Lucky for me it bricked on 3.2u, so autobooting HBC worked.

Try the region patching, or grab the complete KOR AC:CF iso.
I also suspect the region patching will not work as I believe the issue could be related to the language settings of the wii, conflicting with the disk. Best of luck.
