Unhappy Black Screen Wii - 2 Weeks since Mod

    helllo,

i have hacked my wii using the homebrew channel and it is a solid hack (i hope) as it all looked in working order and has been working for weeks.

so after about 2 weeks after this my wii becomes useless, when i switch on the wii:

    - the green power light comes on
    - the TV goes black
    - the controllers stop working, and are un-synced
    - no audio or visual display

i didnt even do any hacking to the console at all in the week it broke, and everything was running smoothly. i think it has a low level brick.

i have got the NAND that i saved when installing bootmii if that helps, and im not too sure if boot2 is installed or not.

    i was running 3.2E i think.

please excuse my newbiness to this, i know ive probably made a schoolboy error on this but i need help.
    so can anyone help?

put the bootmii folder on the root of your sd card and if its installed as boot2 it will boot straight to it

If you truly did do nothing to the Wii then it could always be a bluetooth module failure.

But do as the really helpful guys above have mentioned and see how you get on. Check your DVD slot for dual LED flashes when you power up to indicate boot2 installation.

By the way we do actually have a forum specifically for Bricked Issues, so I moved this to there and renamed it to something more sensible.

I agree with Teal'c, try to switch on your wii with your wii-mote. If that does not work, you have a faulty bluetooth module.
Do you know if the wii sends out any signal or no signal at all. If your TV gets no signal then you have a 'low level brick' which is in your case solvable with your bootmii backup.

i tried the bootmii on the wii after inserting my SD and powering up the wii but i got nothing. no 2 flashes on the led screen , only the black screen.
also i didnt have bootmii installed, and in addition i cant power up the console with any of my remotes.

Then it is most likely that your bluetooth module is broken. Go find a replacement module and try that. If you have a GC controller you can try the savemiifrii trick so you really know your bluetooth is broken

You do realise that hacking the Wii invalidated your warranty. They may decide that the repair will be chargeable.
