    so do i have this right ? On my spare working wii, if i measure the voltage from one side of the resistor then measure the other side they should have different voltages on either side, if so is there a way to work out the resistance value or am i clutching at straws ?

    That wouldn't work. To do it that way you would have to measure the amperage on that leg before or after makes no difference and to do that you'd have to connect in series with it. Which means disconnecting one side anyway.

    ok thanks Baboo77, will have to wait for my rework station, dont fancy removing them with a soldering iron, i just hope i dont mess up my spare working wii while doing it

    I hope the 2 capacitors are ok because i have no clue how to measure the capacitance
