    Is this an irreverable brick?

I have this old wii that bricked a long while back. I though it was done for and have long since abandoned it, but recently I read some interesting stuff that makes me think maybe it COULD be saved. Here's what it does: when I turn it on, the screen doesn't come on and all that happens is the disc drive whirs a bit and then stops. The power can't be turned off unless I unplug it and the Wii remote can't connect with it. I read something about using a specific hacked chip to put bootmii on it (which I can't remember if it had or not) so it can at least go there and be able to have files put on it again to rebuild it, but I'm just not sure.

So is my old doorstop actually salvageable?

I've looked into all these options before. I've tried doing the savemiifree and it doesn't work. The Wii just tries to run the disc drive then sits there. The video doesn't even attempt to come on.

How old is your wii? If it is old enough you can use an infectus chip to flash bootmii into it. Or I can do it for you if you want
If you think I helped you please click the little thanks button
Send me a PM if you have any questions regarding unbricking with infectus mod chip or post a message in here http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...installed.html

It's a launch Wii. I read a little about the infectus chip before.. could you perhaps point me in the direction of learning how to get one and how to use it? I appreciate your offer, but I'd like to try doing it myself just to learn.
