Red face Low Level Brick - Advice needed

I've modded seven or eight Wii's without any problems, but my first offline mod went totally pear-shaped and I've ended up bricking my sister's Wii for her. And because I don't like to do things by halves, it's the System Menu that I fcuk'd up so SaveMiiFrii doesn't work. However, I *had* installed Bootmii as an IOS and have a NAND backup that I made right before the bricking happened.

I've read just about every post I can on the "black screen of Wii" and have come to the conclusion that an Infectus is my only hope of recovering this poor brick. Unfortunately, my soldering skills are totally non-existent and from what I've read I don't think that this would be a suitable project to start practising on! So my question is : does anyone here know of a company/person in the UK who offers this service to twits like me, and how much am I potentially looking at?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer.

Sounds like your conclusion regarding the infectus is correct. Unfortunalty I have no advise on someone to help you in the UK. Erikie is our sites expert in this area, but he is located in the Netherlands as far as I know. I don't know what he would charge you, but he knows what he is doing.

Thanks for your feedback, mauifrog. Obviously, it depends on how much postage is going to cost on top of the actual fix - I can pick up a second hand Wii for as little as 79 up to 99 from Cash Converters/Cash Generator, and from what I've read, the job is pretty involved so I don't expect it to be cheap. (I've already replaced my sister's Wii, so I'm hoping to be able to get this one fixed and sell it on to get at least some of my money back).

Having read the rules of the Board, I'm wary of PM'ing Erikie (not sure if he's a Mod or not), so if anyone's in contact with him, could they please point him in the direction of this post? I'd really appreciate his opinion on this.

    Thanks.

If you have replaced your wii, you could sell your wii to someone with an infectus chip.

That's certainly an option, mauifrog. I'd have to balance up how much it would cost to have it repaired to sell at full second-hand price (around 100 + repair & postage) against what it would be worth as a brick. Any ideas? Looks like I'm off to trawl eBay now.
