As I get IOS failed errors on that wii.
The wii I have did the same thing, the owner always had to start twice or more to get the wii working. I tried the SNEEK thingy on that wii and it works without problems. Tried to restart the wii a couple of times and still working.
So if you can install bootmii in boot2 can you try that and see what happens if you start with SNEEK on SD card? I think that will work without any issues.
When I have time to look at my mobo again (too busy fixing wiis for other people) I will have a look at the nand again, as I think that is the problem on the wii.
thanks I will give this a shot appericiate any help u may give ill repost any info after testing it.

but it works fine after restarting a few times. not sure how i can tell if its the bluetooth moduel.

It is really weird..a dead bluetooth module would cause a black screen, but I've never read about having to restart multiple times just to get it to boot. Bluetooth modules comes cheap though, so if yours is indeed broken it's not an expensive fix. Do you have another wii, or a friend with a wii? Try swapping bluetooth modules, just to test it. Maybe try reconnecting yours if you don't have another. Just an idea...

where is the bluetooth module? and also is it bad that I cant load bootmii from HBC? it just goes to a black screen and the light on the disc drive flashes.

and yes i installed it as an IOS cant install as boot2

oops forgot to add i can turn it on using the wimote but it just goes to a black screen the first 2 times. so i doubt its bluetooth related.

I am pretty sure your bluetooth is not bad at all but you have a different problem.
with a bad bluetooth you cannot start the wii at all and will get a black screen. Bootmii does not require a bluetooth module also.
I really think your mobo has a similar defect as mine. Too bad you install bootmii in boot2.
Don't you have any warranty anymore? As I defenitely would send it to Nintendo for repairs...

it seemed to work better after reinstalling ios70patched and priiloader. and yes i already sent it in for repairs once because of the wifi not working on it. everything works fine on it its just an annoying restart 2 times for it to work or random freezing after the first 2 restarts then it works flawlessly. if i send it in again wont they see what ive done to it? softmod wise. 4.2u is my system version.

they should be able to see your softmods indeed. However your symptoms are exacly as described by the former owner of the board I have.
And this board is now even worse as it only starts after the power has been disconnected for a certain amount of time and even then I cannot do many things on it.
It will not 'reload' any IOS. However when I use SNEEK on SD card it works without problems. So I hope you will not get the same problems. I cannot solve yours just warn you.
Mine has bootmii boot2 though and I can always start bootmii and even run linux without problems...

will i be able to do that also but mine is just a boomii installed via IOS not boot2. my system can not do that. so doing what you call a NEAK start up will still wrk for me? and if so how does one go about doing that. Also i found out why my boomii wasnt loading i backed it up with the nand on my pc so i put it back on the SD card.

if you think it will work how do I go about doing this SNEAK thing. thanks so much again.

    Have a look here: http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-custom-s...orp-3-6-a.html
But this will not be a permanent solution. However the trick will only work if you can boot straight into bootmii which you cannot.
You first need to be able to get to homebrew which will take you a couple of resets.

I wanted to say one more thing. My wii ran perfectly fine on the first power on before i softmoded it. i remember Shadowsonic2 helping me because my system would give me an errors when using the DOP-IOS mod step #Step 3 - Restoring The Bug Into IOS36 on shadowsonics tutorial. he had to give me different files to use. Do you think it was a bad installation? can and should i revert back to virgin status and try it from scratch once more? ant more tips are greatly appreciated because i do not want to send it back to nintendo.

if i should start over what tutorial will i need to revert back to virgin status for a 4.2u system?

A bad ios36 would not affect your system menu, perhaps certian homebrew but not your system menu. So I doubt it is related to ios36.

Just two thoughts- someone had mentioned some strange wii behavior from a bad wiimote. Do you have another one? If you do, clear your sync in the wii then resynce another wiimote. See it there is any difference.

Second thought- boot into maintenance mode: hold + and - at the health screen, then push A. See if the wii freezes in maintenace mode, playing games, ect.
    Ipsa scientia potestas est.
