Bricked wii --> I think its banner-bricked, but is it? confused ><
Hello all,
I can't load my system menu. When I boot up, I see the health warning screen. Sometimes the 'Press A' flashes once but it always freezes right there. ONCE it made it to the menu and then froze immediately. This is considered banner-bricked?
The thing is - I wasn't messing around loading any WADs - no channels or even messing with the system menu itself. Besides my dad playing Wii Sports Golf, I haven't even been using it. He says he didn't install any updates. It honestly feels like its out of nowhere [I must've done something, lol].
Ok, I was on SM 4.0 when I started having issues. I successfully installed SM 4.1, lost preloader, and was left with only bootmii boot2 and cboot2.
I recovered HBC, priiloader and tried to reinstall SM4.1. FIRST installing IOS60-patched and then the SM [lost priiloader again, duuur]. After that I was still getting the freeze at the health screen.
Tried to virginize my Wii via the stickied guide. I followed everything except I didn't uninstall bootmii or HBC. I then started over using the stickied guide 'New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii.'
I started to wonder if maybe I accidentally installed a PAL update from a game. Then I wonder if my system was even 'U' anymore - thought maybe it was PAL somehow. LOL. I ran AnyRegionChanger just to see what it said. Everything is still NTSC and I didn't change anything.
I also tried replacing my settings.txt file using "GC Settings Fix'' w/ NTSC settings file. I tried to load official copy of wii sports through neogamma- it freezes at the reminder to put the wiimote strap on. I tried a NTSC backup of madworld and it went pass the reminder screen then froze.
I don't have a NAND backup...I don't even know if bootmii was around when I first hacked my Wii.
Finally - perhaps my IOS are just way outta whack:
