help me with a 3.3 kor wii brick, a help me thread on undricking nintendo wii 3.3-kor

    hello people,

i bought my daughter a nintendo wii pre chipped 5 months ago.she was really enjoying it but a week ago she said she inserted a game disk given by her friend and the wii stopped working.

that was her part. then i researched a bit and came to know the following things

1>it has a wiitop modchip installed with korean setting on the jumper
2>it is banner bricked as there is blank screen after health warning screen
3>i used savemefrii and it booted to rescue screen with firmware 3.3(kor) at the bottom.
4>i tried rescue discs to game discs but nothing worked......the disc will spin for about 30 sec and stops....i even tried to update firmware to 3.4 by using fifa 10 dvd but no luck

sorry but i searched for about a week to resolve it but nothing helped.

i didnt tried modding it as my daughter was happy with what she got.so it has no tp hack,no HBC,no bootmii.....nothing
it is just a korean wii with wiitop modchip on it and nothing else.i can go through a very tricky and complex process as i cant send it to nintendo as i am outside US now.also i am familiar with both software & hardware mod .

also somewhere i read that 3.3 without tp hack cannot be unbricked.is it true?if so will reflashing NAND help?
help my daughter is killing me...

recently i have ordered an auto-bootable drivekey modchip. it'll be in my hand in a few days. will it help???

Yea I seen something mauifrog was saying about maintenance mode, but i don't know if it will work on yours. Hold the + and - buttons and keep pressing the a button on the health screen.

    Déjà vu

Sounds like someone tried to region change it and failed.

It would be very helpful to get your hands on the deadly disk and find out what was on it.

You could try to autoboot Zelda, and check for TP hack, it may be there if your girls friends dicked with it.

Unfortunately 3.3k does not boot trucha disks, so you wont be able to autoboot any custom disks.

You could try to update to 3.4u/e from disk, or try to update to 3.5k from disk. If the wii was region changed an failed in the process, you may have trouble autobooting out of region games, or all games.

I would first get my hands on the mystery disk and identify it, also check the sd-card for any traces of homebrew apps. Start downloading some games know to have 3.4u/e updates and 3.5k updates on them, and zelda.

The whole thing smells foul. Here is the thing, you are on 3.3k, so your system menu was not updated. Mario Kart ntsc have 3.1u update on it, this disk can be played and the updated installed on a korean wii without incidence. So what happened is kind of a mystery and does not make much sense.

But if I was to load Any Region Changer, set all of my settings to USA, then fail to install 3.2u- It probably would result in your situation. So I am leaning towards the 3.4 update before the 3.5k update. Also you should be able to run the 3.5k after the 3.4, but not the other way around.

This will probably fail, but you probably should try to hold + and - at the health screen, then push A a few times while holding + and - down.

i can get upto recovery mode. the screen where i can see the firmware version 3.3

since i'm using a korean ntsc wii, will i be able to autoboot and update from usa ntsc based game???

also, the welcome health screen in my wii used to be in a korean language. but now, after the wrong update from a (pal version i guess) game, it appears in english language.

also, when i insert the wii game in my computer, it reads as a blank disc. and since i dont have another wii, it is hard to find which game actually spoiled my wii.
