Still havent received my infectus so done a lot more research, from this site : h**p://wiibrew.org/wiki/Hardware/Hollywood_GPIOs

i found which testpoints to test on the motherboard to see if the Hollywood chip was working but i get no voltage from any of them which is very worrying but then i went here :

    Hardware/Starlet - WiiBrew

and looked at the area that says 'Boot' and read that and started wondering about the boot sequence, am i right in thinking that if the sequence at BOOT2 is corrupt then the Broadway chip will not boot so i wouldnt get any voltage anyway ?

just check if the drive bay light flashes once when you switch the power on. If so then it reads boot1 and boot2.
After it it hangs. Then you need your infectus to unbrick it. If your boot1 is vulnerable anyway ...

Cheers erikie, the blue light does flash once then nothing, hangs like you said and this is an old wii i think serial number LEH1656 PAL so more than a 50% chance that boot1 is vulnerable, time to send a screaming email to electronicsmod.com lol

I am 99% certain that that wii contains a vulnerable boot1.
Have done about 20 wiis now and also LEH18xx so no problem with this one for you

    Same boat - solution here?

DIY Wii Nand flash programer?? Help? - WiiNewz - Nintendo Wii Modchip & Hacking Community

I am in the same boat - my wii has a similar serial. I am going to be flashing my NAND with a home made programmer. The only exception to the original project in my link above, is that I am using serial and a max232 to connect to the pic (not usb). I am also not desoldering the nand, I am going to use a solderless method of connecting the lines to the legs while the unit is still on board... those details here:
camerahacking :: View topic - poor womans TSOP test clip :P

This is a long shot, but it has worked for at least two people so far and I'm willing to try anything

It only takes me 3 minutes to solder the complete nand of the board without any damage. Already ordered a socket, this will be my new setup. Much easier than fooling around with solderless method. WHat happens if your nand is not working properly anymore or breaks in the process? I had 2 nand chips that did not function properly. Either by my fault or just damage otherwise. Anyway I replaced them and both wiis work without any issue.

    erikie...
I tought about also removing the the chip and using the infecturs or a Eppron programer with a TSOP socket and doing all flashing this way. Can you be a bit more specific about your setup. I'm a very noob, but just got me a reflow 2 in 1 for a 360 project and will like to give this thing a try. I never solder before but hey there's always a first time. I wouldn't like to put the infectus chip to the MBoard, will like to keep it separate. Any inputs on this. G1 not hijacking your post, but you may be interested. Thanks Guys

If you never solder I would not recommend starting with this.
It is so tiny it is hardly seeable. I soldered plcc84 chips before like crazy and that was a good excercise for this. I use hot air station for removing the tsop. First one end and then the other side. Done in a flash
At the moment I still use the good old wires to the nand method, when I have my new setup ready I probably move to removing tsops. Need to get my tsop boards and adapter to be able to do this...
