    brick?

i bought a us wii to mod it. before i can even get the chance to try. i tried to format the system memory and it just keeps going like...i let it try for 12 hours over night so thats not right.
when i go to the options menu then data settings and click on either save data or channels it brings up the menu like its supposed to but the part where the save data or the channels are supposed to be is just gray and i cant click on anything.
then when i press the home button and tell it to go to the main menu it black screens.

    any ideas?

    We can try this
    Format your sd-card
    Extract CB2_BB2_DopIosMod_v11.3.zip
    Boot the wii
Click on the SD icon from the channel menu
    Insert the sd-card
    Load boot.dol/elf
    First, install ios36 trucha
    Then use ios36
    Remove stubbed ios files
    Install ios60 with patches
    Install system menu 4.1u

Then do step 1, 2, 3d, 4 and 5 of the 3.1-4.1 guide linked below.

ok. when i click on the sd menu and then insert the sd card. nothing happens...and when i put the sd card in and then click on the menu it just says loading from the sd card and ...never does.

i was supposed to keep the sd card as PAL correct? or format it to ntsc?

Boot the wii @ the health screen hold + and -, then push A while holding.

    Goto
    Settings-data management- channels- sd card
back out to save games- sd card
back out to settings, move through them
Then push the home botton and return to wii menu
If that works, reboot the wii, and goto data management again. See if anything changed.

OK, you have never modded your wii, and this all started from a failed system format, it nerver promted you for you language an such after the format.

Lets start with simply running the hackmii installer
Format your sd-card, use this tool if you have any trouble
    Extract BB2_hackmii-1.6.zip to your sd-card.
Be sure to extract the file, with win zip or 7-zip.
On your sd-card you should have
    sd:\private\
    sd:\boot.dol
    perhaps others

Boot the wii and click on the sd-icon, then insert the sd-card
    Load boot.dol/elf

This will start the hackmii installer
    Install HBC
    Install DVDx
Install bootmii, as boot2 if you can, as ios if not
    Prepare your sd-card for bootmii

Now you should have the homebrew channel

Replace the private folder on the sd-card with the one from this
    abd69_v200.zip
    or this
    abd6b_v200.zip

    Try again

To bad, I bet we could have fixed it. Send it back to Nintendo.
