Question Unbricking 3.2E PAL WII using a WODE running anyregion iso

I have read DOGEGGS excellent tutorial on the route to unbrick but have a question and wondered if anyone had been down the same route as me and could answer the following.

I have a 3.2 E bricked (black screen) that I have used a GC controller to get the firmware (3.2 EUR) to display in the bottom right corner of the screen.

I have also downloaded the autoboot anyregion changer ISO from the tutorial screen and have written this to a WBFS formatted HDD.

I then attached the HDD to my WODE and have tried to autoboot the ISO setting the region (I have tried them all) but in each case on autobooting I get a region mismatch error on the WODE. The WODE is working fine for other ISO's

Can anyone suggest if I need to change settings (not too many to choose from) or if I need to download an alternative ISO.

I do not have a "standard" modchip fitted, hence the reason for trying to use the WODE to autoboot the ISO

    Any suggestions gratefully received

    thanks

Are you unable to change the region info in anyregion changer?

This disk will load HBC if it is installed
    http://www.mediafire.com/?tywnym2wwnv

    This one will load Loadmii
    http://rapidshare.com/files/331862374/New_Loadmii_AB.rar

If you can't fix the setting with any region changer, use one of the above and load system settings replace mod.

Also while your at it, could you please try to autoboot SSBB ntsc with your wode?

Thanks for the suggestion the HBC and LoadMii both show region mismatch on the WODE screen so its a WODE issue.

I have posted on the WODE forum for suggestions.

I don't have an NTSC SSBB as I patched it to UK but I am happy to DL a raw NTSC and test for you.

It just may take some time to action.

I will take this up with the WODE techs and post when I have run the SSBB.

    Thanks again

Do you know how the wii bricked?

Can you power on the wii with the wiimote?

Just on a normal running Wii with a Wode. There has to be a region set in the Wii. (cannot set region free in priiloader) Doesn't matter which. You set the Region patch to on. This enables any Wii to run any region game. (except 4.2 you cannot use out of region games with this version).

Your Wii is bricked so this may not be of much help.

The Wii was bricked during changing an IOS, at that time I had not done enough background reading (my fault I know) and had not installed Bootmii as either an IOS or into NAND.

The Wii does boot into 3.2 EUR from GC controller and so I am hoping it will repair. If I can't get the WODE working I have a flatmii and I will try that.

The Wiimote does not power on the Wii at this time

mauifrog, in relation to the SSBB NTSC issue I have found a SSBB NTSC that I region patched to UK can I repatch it back to NTSC and try that or do I need a clean virgin ISO for your test?

You can patch it back, it would be a good test as the game does not autoboot with any chip. Just wondering if it would be any different with a wode.

Are your remotes synced to your wii? It could be a bad bluetooth module.

I have tried two iso's one is a 3.8Gb PAL SSBB and it works on both my GX USB and WODE

The other is a 6.7Gb NTSC SSBB and it does not work on either

Its taken time to get my hands on the 6.7Gb if you want any other tests doing please post

My WII 1 died by the way, the WODE would not work with any of the "unbrick" ISO's I got my hands on (even under v1.24) and so I switched to my FLATMII with update on and Region off.

Wii 1 won't boot to Recovery screen even with GC now- oh well lesson learnt !!!
