    Unhappy Wii won't turn on?

I was trying to install Preloader on my Wii when it froze (or so it seemed). It said it was trying to load or launch Preloader and was "waiting 5s". 10 minutes later it was still on that screen. I turned it off, then tried to turn it back on but nothing came up on the screen. So I unplugged it from the wall. Now it won't even turn on. The LED light isn't on, nothing. I'm going to take a wild guess and say I f*cked up and bricked my Wii.

How exactly can I fix this? I tried the Preloader Brick Fix that's stickied but since my Wii won't even turn on, it didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Left it unplugged for a while and the LED light now lights up. But, holding reset while turning it on does nothing except makes the disc slot light up once.

Sorry for your situation. Not sure it will work out in your favor. You can read this for your options-
OH SH*T: Black Screen of WII!!!
Also I am very interested in the softmode guide you followed, what version of preloader you installed,
and if you installed with ios36 (A) or ios 249 (+).

    I used this guide: http://www.consolespot.net/forums/wi...up-loader.html

(yeah, I know I'm an idiot and shouldn't have ignored that post)

It bricked after I loaded the "Preloader .29 Installer".

OK, well sorry for your situation. Just read through that guide, and it is a little out dated, pre 4.1 from what I can tell. Not sure why you bricked as preloader install was pre preloader, but perhaps the preloader installer was corrupted in some way, or it was just bad luck.

Well I've been reading through some posts and now I'm not 100% sure I've even bricked my Wii because it doesn't seem to go to a black screen, the screen just seems to stay black as it does when the Wii isn't turned on. Some other topics were suggesting hardware failure?

I tried the preloader thing and couldn't get it to work. I'm not sure if I had Bootmii installed as boot2. I know I could access it from the HBC. I'll probably try option 3 tomorrow (I'm guessing I'll have to take apart my GCN controller to do that one).

EDIT: After looking at this (http://savemii.net/troubleshooting.html) chart, it seems to me like this doesn't have much to do with trying to hack my Wii at all. According to that chart I didn't brick my Wii, I have a low-level failure. I don't know too much about this stuff, but how exactly could trying to install Preloader cause those problems? And if it's not a fault of my own and just some odd coincidence, and I send my Wii off to Nintendo to get fixed, will they slap the cuffs on me for having an emulator and HBC on there?

Sorry to bump this if that's not allowed but I've tried all 3 options and nothing worked. I'm most likely just going to send my Wii of to Nintendo unless anyone has any last resorts...

How old is your Wii? If it is new then you can try your warranty.
If no warranty anymore then you might look into re-flashing your nand and try to get bootmii into it. But this only works if you have a vulnerable boot1 (you might remember if you could install bootmii into boot2).

The LED light isn't on, nothing
Sounds dead to me. If the LED doesn't even light Red or Green then there's a hardware issue or power supply issue. Is the Wii totally dead?
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I had the same problem with my Wii when intalling the mod http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

I had the 4.1U and just installed the softmod then it did the same as you when I reached 5a) when installing IOS60-patched.wad .

The Wii just suddenly turned off, and no LED same as you.

I just unplugged everything, wait for about 30 minutes and plugged it back and everything went back to normal and I could finish the installation.

But now, I keep on having those sudden turn off here and there, mostly after playing any game for about 30 to 40 minutes.

I don't know if it does the same on yours, but when mine suddenly switch off, I can hear small "crack" sound in the console.
Then I unplug everything, wait about 5 minutes and plug it back.
When I turn it on the first time, the wii turn on for 10 seconds and then switch off again.
I then have to turn on again and I can play normally.

Also, I'm still testing on it, but it seems to happen when I use Neo-gamma, but still not sure whether it also happens with the basic loader.
