To program the nand with your backup nand.bin you would need to send it to a professional, or buy the needed tools and do the soldering work.

Mr mauifrog, thxs for creating this topic...

I have some questions but i dont know if its best to create a new topic or post it here, in order to ask for help ... A friend of mine asked me to fix its Wii and it seems it got the black screen of death... he says he didnt install any wad/themes etc, and the wii started to show the black screen suddenly..

We installed bootmii as boot 2 long ago, but he didnt create a nand backup... and although we tried generating and writing back the nand through bootmii, it didnt fix the black screen.

We can enter to the homebrew channel and I tried reinstalling the system menu wad (boot mii says the wii is at 4.3) and the IOS 80, that were downloaded with NUS, through a modded wad manager that allows for GC controller, but it didnt work either... I followed a cboot and a mmm tutorial (though I only reinstalled the IOS that were included there) but nothing .. I was this close to use NAND formatter, but since the firs post says there are solutions if boot mii is installed as boot 2 and HBC is available, then I ask for help here....

Btw, I cant syncronize my wiimote with his wii...

Any help is much appreciated...thxs a lot in advance!

I expect that the blue tooth module has gone bad and this is causing your issue. First do chapter 2 of the softmod any wii guide, install the 4.1 system files, modpack, and ios update pack, install priiloader. Then put the apps from chapter 3 on the sd card. Now try 2 thing- 1 load priiloader and try to load all the wii channels from priiloaders channel loader, 2 load the HBC and load a loader, then try to load a game with the loader. If the channels load to black screen and the games load to black screen, I would say you have a bad bt module. You can also use savemiifrii to load the recovery menu, which would load without issue with a bad bt module.
The bt module is cheap and easy to replace.

Hi mauifrog, would really appreciate your advice on an issue on my wii. i've used the softmod guide abt 2 years ago to mod my wii(which you did), everything was fine... up untill recently after my wii had "red light issue" causing me to change to power adapter to a new one... after the swap it turned on nicely... however as it was turned off for a month or 2 i needed to resync the controllers.....

which now this brings me to the issue... i needed to resync the controllers at system menu so i tried to use bootmii and priiloader to access it.. however after i click on return to system menu the screen turns black and stays that way.... reading many posts of similar problems.... i reinstalled as per the guide(chapter 2 onwards, all wad's installed with no problems) provided again but im still not able to get to the system menu..... everything else works fine thou (priiloader, HBC, bootmii) i even reinstalled the system menu via the wad update. everything done and still having an black screen every time i try to access system menu. I hope you can help shed some light on this, as i might be missing out on something here, or worse have done something thats unrepairable ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. A big THANKS in advance and for all the guides till now.

Hold reset and turn the wii on, get priiloader loaded. Disable all the system menu hacks except update block, then save. See if that helps.

@xkiax - Please be very careful with this as priiloader works itself into the system menu. By virtue of the fact that you are able to launch prii, you have the ability to launch homebrew in spite of not being able to get to the system menu. For now, if you can get into syscheck, it couldn't hurt to get a syscheck posted.

Load bootmii, make a new nand backup.
Verify the nand.bin with nandbincheck, run from the command line
    Code:
    nandbincheck nand.bin -all -v
Post the output from nandbincheck here.
