Ok, so I'm trying to fix a wii for someone.
I have a softmodded wii (using your guide, thank you!!) running on 4.3u with priiloader, bootmii as an IOS, and have my keys and nand backups.
This wii, however, is a virgin. It appears to be bricked. I've been able to bring up the system menu version (also 4.3u) using the d-pad on a GC controller. Now what though?
I've read several options, but I don't want to take this thing apart if I don't have to. I've tried putting in a few disks to force an update, but nothing loads, it remains at a black screen.
Figured I'd ask you for some of your expert advice...

As far as I can tell. I kept asking the guy if he tried to mod it or update it in any way. He assured me he hadn't. Said the kids were using it at night, and when they went to use it the next morning, it wouldn't work.
Definitely doesn't have Priiloader installed.. or if it does, it doesn't work.

I don't have any remotes that are synced to it. Can't get mine to sync, so thinking it might be the bluetooth module, but would I be able to get them to sync if it is actually bricked? And is there an easy way to check or test to tell if it's bricked vs. bluetooth?

hard to tell. a bad bt module will have the same symptoms of a bricked wii.. some users have had luck from uninstalling and reinstalling the same maodule and it works.. BUT I would just get a new one so I didnt have to do it twice... :P

If it IS a virgin wii then it is most likely a hardware failure.. IMO.. common issues are the bt module and the wifi chip as both got hot in older consoles.

Damn. So not an easy fix then I guess
Once I open it up, anyway to tell which one is the culprit?

Damn and damn again... stupid virgin wiis. Maybe I can convince the guy to sell it to me for parts, seeing as how this was his "extra" one for the "other" room.
Thanks for the insight and advice.
