You could always try to uninstall the boot2 wad with wadmanager. I would like to know if it can actually be done. That should brick your wii real good.

    black screen on my wii

    Hello,

I have searched the web trying to get my wii repaired. I am not totally sure what i done. Basically, bootmii was at the start up, and i tried to remove this, rebooted and i now have a black screen. The wii flashed blue 1 time, the 2 fast ones. I have a NAND backup, but cant get anything to boot it up to install this, really struggling here. Any help\ guides woulds be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Hi everyone. Im having some trouble with my soft modded 4.2 wii.

My brother was playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time last night and the game froze. I told him to restart the wii and no video/audio comes up. I was looking through the forums and luckily i think i installed boot2 because when I press the power+Reset+Eject buttons I get a white screen with the preiloader v0.4 (i78). I also have the backup of my wii files.

Is there a guide I can use to proceed from there or is there a quick fix solution?

4.1U Bannerbricked Wii, now Black screen

Hey there, was reading a number of the pages and tried to unbrick but think I may have made it worse:

I softmodded my wii last year with dogeggs tutorial (I have 4.1U). Today i wanted to update my wii and followed this tutorial:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-softmod.html
For this tutorial, it didn't have an option to install ciso38rev17-installer when I went to HBC so i skipped it thinking I already had it after checking my initial wii files(likely what caused the problem). I got to step 4 where i installed the firmware updater and after it rebooted I got the "banner brick screen".

I was able to get to the preloader screen by holding reset and power (where they have options for system memu, load files, run HBC, etc). I tried to run hbc but it said it's not installed. So I then put the sd card in with the original upgrade file and loaded HBC. I was able to get into HBC and after reading how it should "uninstall the bad wad" I uninstalled the iso60patched file (which I believe is what caused the problem) and rebooted.

Now my wii reboots on the black screen and does not allow me to go into the preloader screen! Ahhh i think i've made it worse. Rather than try further on my own I figured it would be prudent to ask for some guidance/direction here. Can anyone give me some direction on which thread I should read for unbricking a soft-modded wii.

    Thanks in advance.

Unbelievable, twice in one day. Hope you have boot2 bootmii.
    Backup and format your sd-card
    Extract cboot2_wadmanager_1.5_mod.zip to sd:\
    Extract IOS60-patched.zip to sd:\wad
    (4.1u)-System Menu-NUS-v449.zip to sd:\wad
Use ios249, install from sd, nand disabled, etc
    Install ios60
    install sm 4.1
then install Priiloader_0.4_BB2.zip from HBC, put hacks.ini.zip on sd:\

Also, you did not have a bannerbrick, you corrupted preloader by installing ios60patched. This is expected to happen, but will not happen with priiloader.

unfortunately i only have bootmii (it wouldn't let me install boot2 when i first did the soft mod). Will this still work for me?

If so, does the file load automatically since it is on the black screen now and i can't get to the preloader screen anymore. Thanks.

As for the double bricking... double facepalm is right!

No, it won't work for you. Your wii is bricked for good. Only solution is to use your nand.bin or key.bin from your bootmii nand backup and have the nand reprogrammed with a nand programmer. If you don't have the nand.bin or key.bin, you can't even have that done.

ahh crapppp. well that just sucks! ;aksd;fkjasdlf

I do have the backed up nand.bin (~540mbs) and key.bin (1kb) but sounds like it's a long shot. Is there a link for the nand programming instructions?

Edit: I do also have a old wireless gamecube controller too. I was reading how some people use that. Not sure if that is still an option for me.
