    Hey,

I got a Korean Wii soft modified (no chip) for US region as well, was happy and 4.1U. Then got updated by a game to 4.2U... I reinstalled homebrew and usb loader and udpated to the patched ios70 481 and installed priiloader 0.3 (r47).

Obviously, now i got the korean 003 error... You said earlier that its easy to save my Wii from this point since my priiloader works; I can load homebrew, play games and all through it. So i guess I am "semi-bricked"..

    Some guides suggest to :

    A)
    with Dop-Mii_v12_CB2_BB2.zip
    - Install IOS60-64-v6174 with all patches
    - Install 4.1u-System Menu-NUS-v449.zip
    - Reinstall priiloader from HBC, can upgrade from my 0.3 to the 0.4b.
    - Extract hacks.ini.zip to sd:\

Means a downgrade to 4.1U since its IOS60 right? Or 4.1U(IOS60) and 4.2U(IOS70) can actually run side by side? Is the steps above enough to make me 4.1U again or is it the correct steps for me since i start from 4.2U? or will brick it more?

    B)
    Install ios70patched.wad
    Install system menu 4.2 wad
    Install priiloader v.0.3b

Will it actually unbrick it since 003 is related to the korean region change to US? Reinstalling IOS70 will result in the same error 003 behavior, no? Or should I install the IOS70 not patched, then no more priiloader but at least my Wii SM works?

    C)
Theres a lot of guides out there for fixing it trought some games bypass, but its only when you dont have priiloader previously installed, right?

    D)
There is no fix at the moment for Korean Will updated for 4.2U with error 003 unauthorized device. I know what you said about talking about downgrade and getting ban... but seriously is it the solution since its a "Korean"?? Will it even works...?

I browse so many pages on the subjet lately, iam a bit confuse about which ones are the correct steps for this special case? I want to make sure before bricking it for real!!

    Thanks!

Does it work on 4.3(u) semi-brick?

Hello everybody! I am new to this community. I recently semi-bricked my wii using the NTSC Metroid Other M disc on a PAL console. The version of the soft is 4.3(U).
I tried using this tutorial replacing the ios60 with ios80 and the system menu 4.1 with 4.3E downloaded from NUS. The problem is that when I try to install the first 3 wads...
i get an error telling me that I don't have the necesarry files.
Q: Do i need other files to make this happen? If so, wich ones?
Note: My Wii is not conected to internet, I am installing everything from SD
P.S.: someone told me to start directly with Step 3 (select ios36) because i have homebrew channel installed and dop-mii. after i do that, i get this error: Error! Select an ios that accepts fakesigning!

make sure your wads are either in the root and/or in a wads folder on your sd.
also maybe this Softmod 4.3 Wiis guide will help you in the section where you can downgrade to 4.1 optionally

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

thanks! but i am not willing to risk a full brick by downgrading...i am sure there must be a way for unbricking this semi-brick! my wads are where they are supposed to be, just that they may not be the right ones for this semi-brick...

This is possible, but since 4.3 is not universally compatible only 4.1 will be included in this guide. Installing 4.1 will not harm your wii any more than installing 4.2 or 4.3. If anything goes wrong during the install, you are screwed, but your wii supports 4.1 just as well as it does 4.3. Use dop-mii v13 for your desires, but I do not and will not ever recommend anyone install 4.2/4.3 on there wii intentionally.

Here is my situation: I have a chipped USA-Region Wii (don't know which chip it is, i have it chipped in early 2008) and some months ago i installed an update from a pal game (new super mario bros, i didn't know that it could brick my wii). Now, i have install the update of super mario galaxy 2 (4.2U) so i could fix the brick. Everything went well, and now i have access to my system menu again, and i can play super mario galaxy 2. Some of my channels are still double (i have 2 weather channels and 2 "i dont remember" channels). Then, i wanted to play the USA version of New super mario bros, but when i put the dvd, it tells me that there is an error, eject the disc, and turn off the console. Then i try again, and it told me that the system files were corrupted..All with only that game (i have tried a few only: wii sports, crash bandicoot and super mario galaxy 2 works fine..)..

I haven't fully fixed my wii? or it is an error from the dvd, not the wii? (i haven't tested the game in another wii, so i don't know if it works or not..)

What can i do next to fully repaired my wii? how can i delete the channels that are doubled?

By the way, i don't have homebrew channel.

sorry for my english if it isn't good.

    cheers.

One word to prevent this all: Priiloader. Sounds like you didn't follow a wiihacks guide, either. Mauifrog will likely be able to help you; there's also a guide on NSMB on this site as well, suggest you take a read.

Edit: we have a modchip identification thread here if you're interested; it would involve opening up your Wii with a triwing screwdriver, of course...

The NSMB could be bad. You can get rid of your duplicate channels. To get rid of the channels, follow this guide, install System menu 4.1, it will restore region free ability to your chip.
Then in dop mii go to the channels menu, select the channel you wish to remove, select the region (pal) you wish to remove, then uninstall it. As for NSMB, you will probably need to update the firmware of your chip to make it work.

many thanks, surely is that my chip doesn't supported it...i haven't updated the chip or anything like that...the chip that i have is one of these for sure, but i don't remember which specifcally (maybe i will open it and see one day): D2CKey, D2Pro, WiiKey or Wiikey 2. I remember that i didn't have any problem with any other game (for example, i was able to play super mario galaxy as well, wario ware, and a lot more from that times)

this is the guide you told me, nightstah? http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/28589-guide-new-super-mario-bros.htm

Anyway, it doesn't tells how to play it for modchip users.

Well, many thanks for the quick answer, cheers!
