    I don't know?

OK I dont know if my wii is bricked or not. I softmoded my wii about 3 months ago and have not had a probem with it at all. I did not play my wii for about 2 weeks and when I turned it on, it turned on as usual and I noticed my wiimote was not synced so I attempted to sync it and it would not sync I tried new batteries but nothing, I went to the support site and followed sync to the T and nothing, so I called support and they said to send the remote back. So I went out and bought another remote and it will not sync either. This is what I tried:

Turn the Wii console power OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds have elapsed, plug the cord back into the wall outlet.

Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This will clear all the syncs on the Wii, allowing you to get a clean start to begin the process described below.

After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will blink.

Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console (picture).

When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

When I turn on the wii this is what I see:

    Systemmenu
    HBS
    Installed File

    Load/Installed File
    System menu hacks
    Settings

In the left corner is this:

    IOSv60
    Systemmenu V446

In the right corner I see this:

    Preloader
    v0.29

If I am bricked what should I do? How can I tell if this is just a remote issue?

Thanks 4 any & all Help

What happens when you click system menu or Homebrew channel? I can't help with your syncing issues but if there's another problem I can certainly try.

    Thank you,

I used the game cube controller and started the wii up in regular mode and both of the wiimotes started working. I guess you cant sync while in the system menu mode.

How can I make my wii start without going to the command mode and clicking on system mode or whatever the black screen is called?

    Thanks 4 any help

Go to settings, set autoboot to System Menu and Return to to System Menu as well. Hit save settings and it should be good to go.
