Full Brick? 4.2E with Preloader, System Menu IOS set to 0

Hi everybody, I've been searching everywhere on the internet since yesterday, and didn't find a thread concerning my problem, so here I am.

I've bought yesterday a black Wii, put it in 4.2E, installed HBC, DVDX, and BootMii as IOS, backuped the nand, then ran preloader.

As version 0.30 wasn't working, I got preloader 0.29 jodi, installed it, then reran preloader 0.30, and changed system menu IOS to 60 (it was at 70).

But now, when I reboot, my Wii starts in preloader, with a message "Error autobooting system menu! ES_DiVerfiy failed!"

In the bottom left, I have "IOS v60 / System menu v0".

I can't go to the HBC, message "Error booting HBC, maybe title not installed?", neither can I launch BootMii IOS (same message).

I can't load / install file, keep getting "Exception (DSI) occurred", even when booting the HBC boot.elf.

When I go to System settings, I have System Menu Ios set to 0, and when I try to change it, it doesn't do anything and the Wii do not respond.

I've tried several things, like installing BootMii_Booter, but it failed, as well as trying to launch several versions of Wad Manager.

I'm really stuck at this time and don't know what to do. I hope that someone here has already seen this problem and will be able to help me.

    Many thanks.

Can my Wii be full-bricked even if I can access Preloader? It's the only thing I can access though, everything I try to launch fails...

No one have ever seen a preloader showing "System menu v0"?

    Thank you.

You can access HBC through preloader, correct? Should be a simple fix:

    Start homebrew channel
    start wad manager
    install system menu 4.2 v482.
You will need to reinstall preloader when you're done.

You can get the system menu by using NUS downloader and ticking the "Pack to wad" box.

System menu uses IOS70 and stubs IOS60 making it effectively useless. Trying to make the system menu use IOS60 is precisely what broke it for you.

Be sure to install ios70patched first, then install system menu 4.2.

Sounds like nothing is working at the moment for you.

    Try these
    CB2_BB_Wad-Manager-1.4.zip
    CB2_BB_Dop-IOS_MOD_v9.zip
    CB2_BB_SignCheck.zip

Try to install these, then load the installed file from the main preloader menu
    HBC-loader.zip
    BB_Bootmii_Booter.zip

    Hi, thanks for your answers.

Sadly, it's still don't working. When I try to install Files, I get a "Error installing file, writing failed", whatever it is, and when I try to load files, I get a "(program) exception" with code dump, excepting with the first Wadmanager you gave : I have a "Loading File..." message but nothing happens. Does it take several minutes to load?

I also tried to load recovery mode, but it won't work either.

I'm really lost at this time.

Download loadmii, there are a few versions. See if any will load in prelaoder. Then put a bunch of apps on your sd-card and test loading them from loadmii. Try to get signcheck to run, there is a dol and elf version, try them both.
    start with cboot2_loadmii_signcheck.zip
If it fails there are others in THIS FOLDER

Once signcheck runs, you will push reset many many many times, until the app exits. Then post the cvs file from the sd-card here.

Also change the ios back to ios70, or try ios36 or ios249 (which would just be a band aid fix)

YES! I don't know why, but I changed autoboot to BootMii IOS, restarted my Wii, and this time the system menu showed IOS60!

So I came back to settings, changed it to IOS70 (before that, the Wii freezed when I tried to change it), and IT WORKS!

I'm so glad! A GREAT IT THANK YOU TO YOU TWO.

And if you have a FAQ, you can add it like that :

Q : I have my System Menu IOS set to 0 and can't change it. Every program I try to load fails.
A : It's a preloader bug since you entered a wrong IOS and saved it, just go to Settings, change autoboot to "Bootmii IOS", save settings, restart your Wii. Now you can change back your System Menu IOS to the right one.

If you need further precision, feel free to ask me

    Thanks again! I'm so happy!

Crap I just had this happen to me like 10 minutes after softmodding our kid's 4.2U Wii using SonicShadows guide..

Everything was working perfect, I installed the old Preloader 0.29-jodi and everything went great. Installed 0.30 on top of it right after which seemed to also work great..

From Preloader, I loaded up HBC and ran WADManager and installed some VC wads.
When I rebooted the Wii, I now get the same "Error autobooting system menu! ES_DiVerfiy failed!" message. Mine does say IOS70, looks like it should be good.
And yep just like the guy above me, my only Autoboot choices are HBC. I didnt try it cause I dont care to boot to HBC but yeah no System Menu for me. Oddly, if Im in Preloader and tell it to run the System Menu at the top, it comes back with the same message only this time my WiiMote doesnt work and I have to use a GC controller..

Tried Trucha patching IOS70 again but same deal. Just reinstalled System Menu 4.2 using Dop-IOS Mod on my SDCard and now Im back again.

Just tried to reinstall Preloader 0.29 it went just fine, but now when I go to System Menu, I get the good old 'System files are corrupted' message.
Just dropped 0.30r4 on top of it and back to the ES_DiVerify message.

If I reinstall Sys Menu 4.2 Im all good.. But cant seem to get Preloader to play nice at all. And no I dont want to try out the new Priiloader until all the horror stories and bugs are gone..

Im gonna give it one more try, only this time before reinstalling Preloader Im going to use this IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad instead of using Dop-IOS or TBR to patch IOS70.. Maybe thats the ticket??
