Ok tealc not to make this thread about me but maybe this could help this member out also. Lets say you do have bootmii installed as boot2. How would you enter bootmii without having an as card inserted? Not that this really has anything to do with me since I have my own seperate SD card just with bootmii and my nand on. All I have to do is pop that card in and power on the wii and it loads bootmii right away. But lets say I "accidently" took a sledge hammer to that sd card, how would I enter bootmii?
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.

You can't enter bootmii/boot2 without the SD as the code in your boot2 serves only to load the files from the bootmii folder on SD and it in turn loads mini, whatever that is.

So if you have a mashed SD slot and boot2 installed it's pretty useless in a brick situation.

Any compatible SD can take the bootmii files though. So if you lost yours you could use mine to launch bootmii, although whether it would work on a non-PAL TV is another thing.

Ok so I basically taken care of. My only problem is that I have not ran a nand backup since um maybe June and considering I only modded my wii in may, um thats a long time ago. Since my nand backup, I have installed softchip, neogamma, updated my cios, installed 3 emulators, installed hombrew browser, installed startpatch to move disc channel (dont ask why), updated my channels that needed to be updated, and installed usb loader gx. You think that is enough of a reason to run a new nand backup? I would think so. I just dont remember how to do it. I dont want to sound like a noob but does your new nand backup overwrite your old one?

You can have a thousand if you want. Just drop the nand backup on your PC and give it a name like June 2009. When you launch bootmii and make a new one do the same but put it in another folder.

NAND backups are all very well but unless you really mess up your Wii you won't ever need it. I've only made 2 since April.

Im actually doing another nand backup right now. Would I actually be able to use my nand backup on someone elses wii if they bricked and had bootmii installed as boot2?

No fix Sorry. You have no System IOS to run your Wii, no recovery console, no maintenance mode, nothing.

There lies another tale of a failed 4.2 downgrade.

Send the Wii to Nintendo and pay for a repair, that's your only option.
