Wii System menu is dead, only Homebrew left?

    Hello,

A long time ago I SoftModded/downgraded/something like that my NTCS Wii to 3.2 (I think) to play copied CDs. It didn't work, by the way. Asked for a system updated which fails. All my original games worked though.

I recently acquired Wii Sports Resorts. They asked for a system upgrade which was "successful". My Wii then automatically rebooted and... the screen went black.

I forced shut down my Wii, turn it and got to the BootMii window. Homebrew works, but the Wii System Menu is plain dead, the screen will just go black if I try to access it.

Is there any way to download and restore everything with some HomeBrew application?

When I get my SD card out, BootMii doesn't show up, I immediately get the black screen.

I sent my Wii to a technician (without my SD), he said it's a motherboard problem and he said he can't do anything about it.

I really need to fix it ASAP people, and I really need help here.

    Thanks in advance,

    -iQuit

    Easy.

    Install IOS50 v4889 IOS50-64-v4889.wad & then
System Menu 3.4 for your region
    3.4J-SystemMenu-NTSC-J-v384.rar Jap
    SystemMenu-NTSCU-v385.rar USA
    SystemMenu3.4PAL-v386.wad Euro

Using cboot2 Wad manager mod cboot2_wadmanager_1.5_mod.zip

Drop the cboot2 archive contents directly to your formattted SD, then copy the two wad files to SD:\wad

    You'll need a gamecube controller.

If you can get HBC to run you might be able to use the Wiimote and any version of Wad manager to install the wads.

Your Wii is trying to run off a stub IOS50, if you had not installed Bootmii/boot2 then you'd be packing your Wii up to send back to Nintendo.

Thanks, but I'm not a professional at all with this kind of stuff. I put all this on my SD card's root and it appears on HomeBrew? and I launch something? And why will I need a GC controler?

EDIT: Shouldn't I use the 3.2 version mentioned in this guide?

Not unless you fancy doing it all over again when you put WSR in again.

Get 3.4 installed as that's what you had when you bricked it and then upgrade to 4.1 to prevent you from accepting disc updates again for a while as clearly you are not good with this.

    Well I don't actually know if I had 3.2 or 3.4

And when I have to update to 4.1, do I use Nintendo's usual service or some SD card trick again?

    I don't know if I had 3.2 or 3.4 before the brick.

And do I update using the legal service or some SD card trick?
