4.1U Bricked? Access to Preloader - BootMii installed as IOS

I have preloader installed, but I get a core dump if I try running wad manager and selecting any IOS (249/60). All I get from a normal boot is 4.1U in the bottom corner.

Running the 4.1 updater gives me "could not initialize ISFS subsystem".

At one point I was able to change preloader to use IOS 249 and got a no hacks.ini file found and it booted to the system menu, but then clicked on HBC only to have it go black and now can't boot into IOS249 from the preloader.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I do have bootmii installed as an IOS, but I get a black screen as well if I try running HBC.

This should be a simple fix. First disable any hacks you may have, then set your ios to ios60, autoboot & return to: system menu. Boot the wii. Any change?

Many thanks! That fixed the boot issue. Running Homebrew still goes to a black screen and the controller loses sync.

Would the next step be to try to install HBC again then try running DopIOS and make sure IOS60 is fully upgraded?

    Thanks in advance,
    Sid

Sounds like you have an issue with an ios, probably not related to ios60. Most likely ios36, possibly downgraded, or other downgraded ios. We can have a look for clues with CB2_BB_SignCheck.zip, extract to your sd-card and bannerbomb it. You will push reset many many times until the app exits. This will generate a cvs file on your sd-card. Post it here.

When I run SignCheck it locks up (reset doesn't advance anymore) at IOS36 Rev3094.

Here is what I wrote down before it locks:

    IOS250 (65535)
    Truncha - Enable
    Flash Access - Disable
    Boot2 - Disable
USB 2.0 IOS Tree - Enable

    IOS249 (14)
    Enable
    Disable
    Disable
    enable

    IOS61 (4890)
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable

IOS60 (6174) - Guessing the problem is here?
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable

    IOS56 (4890)
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable

    IOS55 (5149)
    Disable x 4

    IOS53 (5149)
    Disable x 4

    IOS38 (3867)
    Disable x 4

    IOS37 (3612)
    Disable x 4

    IOS36 3094
    Enable
    Disable
    Disable
    Disable

    Thanks again!

Download CB2_BB_Wad-Manager-1.4.zip and extract to a formatted sd-card
    Download IOS36-64-v3090.wad
    Download IOS35-64-v3088.wad
    Download IOS34-64-v3087.wad
    Place the wads in sd:\wad
    Bannerbomb the sd-card
    Wadmanager starts, use ios249
    Install the 3 ios wads

You are a savior! I thought my Wii was stuck in game over mode! Now I just need to figure out why the USB loader starts, but then resets the Wii.

Was able to enable "skip disc updates" and the warning screen within Preloader. Left everything else to disable.

Now it is time to pull out my CC and donate. You saved me from having to buy another Wii and more importantly the fiance nagging!

You should run signcheck again, from the HBC. See if it will complete with crashing. If it does it will generate a cvs file of the results. If it fails you may have another bad ios.
