Need help gettng a bricked wii back together

I bought this wii last month brand new. It is an LU-65 model with 4.2U system menu. I sucessfully installed homebrew, neogamma R7 and USB Loader GX with games running from hard drive. Came home yesterday and my kids had a system files corrupted message on the screen ...
Tried to fix it today by installing systemmenu ntsc 4.1u (I live in the US) from the wad by entering hbc and loading bootmii through maintainence mode and now I just get a black screen when I turn it on... any ideas on what I should try next?...
Does this mean Ive gone from semi bricked to fully bricked?

Sorry to say, your kids are not going to be happy. It is a full brick. You were on 4.2, which means the ios60 is stubed. Ios60 is the system ios file for 4.1, and without a functional version the system menu can not function.

You needed to reinstall ios70 and system menu 4.2, or in the least install ios60 before installing system menu 4.1.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to take it back to the store and exchange it today since Ive had it for less than 30 days. Now Im back to the soft modding...
