    Unhappy Brick help please.

I had a simple system menu semi-brick but seem to have made it worse in the process of trying to fix it.

I now get an Opera error upon boot up instead of the dashboard. I can get a SaveMiiFrii to work fine (and it shows v3.4) but after some reading I'm still not sure what steps to take. I have held reset while booting and don't seem to have bootmii installed any longer.

    I have a 1st gen wiikey.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

holding reset while starting is how you start preloader/priiloader. Bootmii(if boot2) boots when you have the bootmii folders in the root of the sd card. When you start up your wii do you see two brief flashes from the drive light( looks like a flicker) If so then you have Bootmii as boot2 which means you should be safe.

I do believe I saw those flashes. I'll check for sure and if so I'll grab bootmii files again. Thanks for the reply!

Extract this to your sd-card, then boot the wii. If you have bootmii wadmanager will start.

    cboot2_wadmanager_1.5_mod.zip

If it starts, great. If not you will need to use some autoboot cd's.

First you need to provide a detailed description of what you did to brick your wii. It is hard to tell you how to fix it when we don't know how you broke it.

It appears I do have bootmii still installed, yay!

The original semi-brick was from an update from (I believe) an NTSC-J region game and the situation was turned to full brick after trying to use the official Wii backup disc during an inebriated brainstorm.

Should I then just need an IOS and the proper system menu wad?

    Just install IOS30-64-v1040.wad
    then install
    3.2E-SystemMenu-PAL-v290.rar
    or
    3.2U-SystemMenu-v289-NTSCU.rar
    E=pal euro, U= NTSC usa

If i try to install the IOS30-64-v1050.wad I get:

    >>Installing title... ERROR! (ret = -1035)

The only IOS that came with the pack I was able to use was IOS50-64-v4889.wad but then I also get the same error on the SystemMenu wad.

Am I missing a step? I'm to choose IOS36 when WAD manager opens right?

Extract cboot2-signcheck.dol.zip to your sd-card and boot, signcheck should load. Hit reset many many times until the app exits. Then post the cvs file on your sd-card here.

Install cios36-r11.wad using ios16, then reboot and install ios30-v1040 and system menu 3.2 using ios249.
