    Black screen of Wii

    Hi

I hope someone can help and my Wii isnt totally bricked.

    I have a 4.2e firmware and a PAL system.

I followed messie's guide to install the Homebrew Channel here

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

Everything was running fine untill I got to the final stage and installing priiloader.

    I got to this stage

D7)Installation of priiloader. After you install ios70patched, you are able to install priiloader.
-Find the only app in HBC that does not have an icon, yet says apps\priiloader\boot.dol, and load it.
-Read the instructions, and hold down B, and press + to use ios249
-Once it is done, reset your wii and it will take you to Priiloader menu

The info said priiloader had installed so I reset, now my wii just diplays a black screen with NO text. Everything was working fine untill this final stage.

    Other info:

    Bootmii was installed as IOS.

There is only one flash on the DVD drive when I turn on my Wii.

Holding down the reset button after turning on the Wii does nothing.

Did you have to install preloader as ios or could you have been able to install as boot2?
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.

These are the steps I followed to the letter

D6) This will install a hacked ios70 on the Wii. Please read below very carefully, as you may brick your wii if you dont follow instructions properly. A hacked ios70 is needed for 2 reasons:
    a) Allows wiiware and VC games to run through SD card.
b)Allows installation of priiloader, which is the only brick protection you can get if you don't have Bootmii/boot2. It is totally recommended to install priiloader.
Here is how you install ios70:
    -Start wadmanager from HBC
-Accept the agreement and with default settings (ios249 & SD card) press A to browse the SD card.
    -Find IOS70-64-v6687 [Patched][FreeTheBug].wad and press A
-Make sure you install and NEVER EVER uninstall the ios70! If you uninstall ios70 or any ios lower than 200, your Wii will suffer a slow and painful DEATH!
-Once you are 10000% sure it says , press A to install the file.
-Once it's done, press Home to return to HBC.
    -Now you can breath.

I think that means it installed as an IOS

Hold down reset, then turn the wii on and keep holding reset down.

Not long enough to post this. I am sorry, but this is not good. I think your bricked.

Try savemiifrii- get a cheap generic gamecube controller, of modifie an original so the all 4 directions of the d-pad can be pressed at once. Hold all four directions down and boot the wii, continue holding. If it works you should see your system menu listed in the lower right corner.

Also, please verify that all the steps in the guide where followed in the proper order. Any errors anywhere during your mod? I am sorry, but if savemiifrii does not work, and I doubt it will, your wii is a gonner.

I think it must be bricked since I dont have Bootmii/boot2 and priiloader crashed when I installed.

I followed everything to the letter and I was very meticulouse and took my time. The only part that didnt go exactly according to plan was section B1, none of the below packs worked for me

B1) GET THIS PACK(Thanks to Dogeggs, he sure made the trick... this will probably work for anyone) or GET THIS PACK 2 or GET THIS PACK 3 (pick start with the first one, if you get an error pick the next one and follow instructions from B2 and on again. One of this will do the trick without an error. If still nothing, try this)

so I went to the linked guide as instructed

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-4-2-wii.html

and this all went fine. Everything was 100% working and then I thought it I should be safter than sorry and install Priiloader, after the install my Wii never booted up.

I am desperate now as this Wii is brand new, if it is full bricked what are my actual options?

    Im thinking

*Buy a new motherboard for it
*Install a modchip (dont know if this will work at this stage)
*Send it back to Nintendo and foot the bill

I really hope there is litterally 'nothing' I can do

    Thanks for all your help

    Gareth,
I also had the same problem when i installed priiloader.
    I was on 3.2U
I actually had preloader installed but updated wii using "Pimp my wii" on a recommendation. .... won't listen next time.
Didn't like that, so i redowngraded and all went fine.
Decided to install priiloader, and got a code dump screen during install.
Sat there for half and hour as i was afraid to reset it, when i did, i get nothing but black screen. I have been furiously trying the savemii thing for the past couple days...no luck.
I guess I'm not sure what to do also. Any help would be appreciated from both of us.

If it is brand new, put is back in its box and take it back. Tell them it went black after doing an update or something, you don't know.

If you are able to inject bootmii into the nand then you can save your wii.
I used an infectus 2 modchip to do this. Don't know if your Wii can have bootmii on it as the older Wiis can but newer Wiis can't use it.
Cheapest thing then would be a replacement motherboard or try Nintendo.
