    Bricked Wii

    hi,

tried to soft mod my wii and bricked it, heres what I did.

Followed the tut from dogegg (3.1-4.1 wii soft mod) and got to waninkoko's update to 4.1 part.
It installed no problem and said to press any key to restart/finish. when I did that the screen just went black, nothing happened at all. So I switched it off and back on. Nothing happened.

Ive installed bootmii and Can get to the homebrew channel. I backed up my nand just incase, so when I try to reinstall my back up nand it says its for a different wii.

Ive tried installing the system menu again, 4.1e, (that installed ok) but still nothing.

Ive tried a few different suggestions on this site, cboot2 + wad manager (i get the sys menu) but still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

    dale

    Sounds like a Priiloader glitch.

You do need to install System Menu but don't forget, as always when installing System menu, to install System IOS first. You'll need IOS60patched IOS60patched.rar

    Good luck.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Sounds like your cios install failed. Be sure to use ios249. If ios249 won't work you will need a functional cios. Try again with ios249, if it fails try to download the files again and format the sd-card. If it still fails:

    Give this a try
    Download this
    Extract to a formatted sd-card
Add ios60patched and system menu 4.1 to sd:\wads

    You'll need a gc-controller
Boot the wii with sd-card in
    Wadmanager 1.5 mod should start
Select ios36, try others if fail
Install lu64, if it fails install ios16, then lu64 with ios16 instead of 36.
    Restart
Now reinstall your system ios and then reinstall the system menu.

    hi,
    thanks for your speedy reply,

what system ios would i need with system menu 4.1e ?

Can i ask why do I need a GC controller ? are they easy to get hold of?

I will go out and see if I can get a controller and try your suggestions.

when I load loadmii I get the system menu and I can load super mario bros copy but then it crashes, so it cant be anything fatal ? I hope.

    hi,

managed to get it going again with your help but i still have problems

when I installed the folder you supplied me it loaded with bootmii2 loader and said that "IOS36 SUCESSFULLY INSTALLED" then went to the system menu, but when I looked on the homebrew page it said "IOS35 V4.16"

Also when I looked on a thread here to install necessary wads to play latest games, I installed then thru IOS36 and it still comes up with system menu update on all games.

Where am I going wrong ?? It will be something stupid (give me a xbox360 to flash anyday lol )

You'll want to run through the 3.1-4.1 guide again. You'll need to reinstall cios38-r14, and a few wads at the end of the guide. Also use preloader to block updates from disks.

    hi,

this really doing my head in.

I can get the bootmii screen up and homebrew channel up but when I try do do anything else I either get err1035 or 2011 msg.

Ive tried everything i can think of but still can not get the system menu to run by itself without the bootmi file.

I get ios 36 successfully installed on cboot2 but when I try to install ios36 and sys menu everything says it has installed ok but still nothing. Yet when I go on homebrew channel it says im on ios 35

Ive tried tio install ios60 patched and ios249 i get err1035
Ive even tried both ios35 and ios 36 to install sysmenu 4.1e but nothing, when it install via cboot2 it goes straight to health and safety screen, press a and go into settings it says its on 4.1e. this consoles going thru the window soon if i can get going

    please help

    dale

Oh man, I am trying to upload a formatter tool for bootmii.
That way you can virginize your wii and it would help you for sure.
But I keep getting errors on the upload of the file in my thread
