Unhappy Black Screen on boot up after trying to install v289 system menu

I am have a big problem. I have a wii that was 4.2 softmodded and then I installed preloader .29 and tried to update to .30 which just hung for hours so I rebooted and got an error so I turned off the wii and turned it back on and held the reset button to get into preloader which it did. Next I loaded HomeBrew Channel and loaded Wad Manager, then I tried to restore the system menu by trying to install system menu v289 and then I exited wad manager and rebooted. When I rebooted I just get a black screen. I guess it is called the Black Screen of Death. Now I am pleading Please someone help me, is it possible to fix it???

Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do. You downgraded to 3.2, but failed to install ios30-v1040 first. Ios30 is the system ios for 3.2, which would be stubbed on a 4.2 wii. Preloader is also gone with the system menu install. If you have boot2 bootmii you can fix it. You can try savemiifrii, but it won't work.

You can't install it, it needs to be there. Boot the wii with disks removed, if you have it you will see two flashes from the blue led drive light.

I also have a black screen when powering on the Wii. Was trying to get NeoGamma to work on 4.2U. I did install bootmii as an ISO is there anyway to access that? I have the nand file. Right now it does nothing but power on, flash once and then black screen. Any hope??

I don't know. What did you do to end up with a black screen?

Hold reset and boot the wii, what happens?

If nothing happens get a gc-controller, cheep is better, hold all 4 directions on the d-pad, what happens?

If nothing, then there is nothing you can do.

Holding the reset during boot has no impace. The drive light comes on and spins but does not read. Do not have GC controller so cannot try that option. I did try the Autoboot Disk to try and load WadManager but disk will not read. The same disk/sd card combo will load on another Wii so I know the disc/sd combo is good. I think I am SOL. My only questions at this point is if I send it in will it be obvious that this is a mod attempt gone awry or will it be covered under my warrantee? If I send it in can Nintendo detect the mod attempt?

If none of the mentioned methods work, then nintendo will have to do alot of extra work to examine your wii. It is possible, but unlikely.

But I am speculating, as I still don't know what you did to your wii.
